Oh I didnt know Paul Watson was Canadian, their are Americans on board though willing to give their lives to whales.

If I was younger and healthier I'd love to be on board the Sea Shepherd and ram some whale hunting boats, we know which ones they are.

Its Do or Die (or sometimes Lie lol)  on them Ships, True Sailors ;)

Ex US Navy are on Board, along with many Ex Navy from other parts of the Blue Marble mate ;)

That is why they can always outsmart the Illegal Whaling Ops...  They know too well, and if i was a gambling man like swearing Reg next door I would put my money on that they also get some nice tip offs from the Mil.  Pure speculation on my part though :D

I had personally spoke to Mr. Gorells, PR for the NOAA Institute, and he openly admitted that they were monitoring the 'SONIC' weapons affects on oceanic life, but seems as if there is a lot of the story that isn't being addressed for sure, as far as the Oceanic life being terrorized with such weapons.

You can find the whole conversation I had with him here (Mr.Gorells, PR NOAA)

Also contact information as well.

Yes Somamech, when the show "Mermaids: The Body Found" came out on the Discovery channel, I was pushed back on my heels for the implications, as they say with such matters "If it sounds too good too be true, it probably isn't!"
Regardless, when I had spoken too him, he was not aware of the Show being televised, then, about 1-2 weeks later, there was a news release from NOAA for the affiliations and the shows accusations were then publicly denied for any awareness of there being anything such as a Mermaid or the discovery of one.
When he had told me openly of the weapons being tested, he wasn't really to the point, as you may have guessed, but did admit it as being a fact and that NOAA was affiliated with the research and supervision of such experiments.

Well, as far as I can discern of the whole Mermaid/Merman thing is that  there were rock wall drawings depicting humans hunting fish with mer-species evident with in the depictions, this allows me to think that these creatures are a bit more than myth, but then again, I have no other evidence that is provided too prove this an absolute or 100% verifiable scenario.
As far as the species goes, "Yes" they migrate with Mammalian life in the sea and they actually follow them during feedings too locate, I presume, a sustainable food source without having to hunt for food source on their own.
All things in consideration to these events with the migration factors, it makes absolute sense, but, myself as a fisherman, it is always hit and miss when fishing from land guessing where the fish are  located, of course this is us as a land based species of humanoids, but makes Practical sense for such species as a Mer-person too eliminate search and harvest time and inconsistency's for such hunts.

Examples of such Ancient Civilizations interactions and their descriptions of the Mer-people as they had either seen or envisioned.

Though this topic is all speculation for  their existence, it has merit for the Ancients too have depicted them as myth and folk tales have emerged with their species, just a strange unknown I guess at this time.
I seen there were more Whales washed a shore again, something like 13, have to triangulate too see if there were any military sea going vessels with in the near vicinity, but they are still washing up all over the world it seems.
