Today I viewed a movie trailer, as described in the thread title, for "The Founder" starring Michael Keaton. It tells the story of the founding of McDonald's.
Ordinarily, I wouldn't bother posting about something like this except that I am a huge fan of corporate biographies. How businesses are birthed and nurtured fascinates me.
My interest in McDonald's was sparked by a corporate bio I read about them years ago -
MCDONALD'S: BEHIND THE ARCHES by John F. Love.
The most interesting chapter in the book described Kroc's meticulous R&D process, which resulted in revolutionizing the food production industry. More interesting still was his discovery that sheep fat makes the best French fry. Unfortunately, due to the food police, his efforts are now moot and there isn't a French fry out there that can compare. Not in the fast food game anyway.
I ran across Ray Kroc's corporate autobiography while mining links -
GRINDING IT OUT: THE MAKING OF MCDONALD'S, which I promptly ordered from the library.
I'm looking forward to the film.
