If you slice it across into hexagonal wafers that would be good. You would also get more pieces that way.

I can do that, it will mean another diamond cutting wheel but i need a new one anyway :D If i make them 4mm thick we should get at least 10 of them, we should also mark 1 of the 6 sides to show the orientation, that way we can see if that affects the experiment.

I have some very sensitive & high tech measuring stuff here, also we will need to whack it with a nice high voltage, any ideas?
I can supply (or show how to easily rip) hv supplies from stuff like old scanners etc, my ripping tips are always in glow blue....

Please don't say to cut it length way. At best with my old equiptment  I would be lucky to get 3 pieces. With I could get a lot more

Sounds great. As for those who don't have volt-ohm meters, I think Radio Shack sells them on the cheap. Also, I do not believe high voltage is needed since most people would probably use the volt-ohm meters anyway.

Home depot sells a diamond bladed tile cutter for about thirty bucks that wil cut slivers of quartz......go slow and use lots of extra water...it helps to have another person squirting water on the blade and quartz piece in addition to the water feed.

I use one of these to cut glass bars for dichroic pendants all the time, and they work fine for quartz too.

Make sure to use a decent fence to keep the quartz straight the one it comes with is crap...two spring clamps and an aluminum angle works good.

The use of high voltage on a crystal is intriguing . Who knows? Perhaps someday it could be used to send electrical power to anyone with a crystal  anywhere in the universe. The one concern I do have however is if you use high voltage on a piezoelectric crystal would it not cause "stress" within the crystal which could cause micro fractures within or heaven forbid, an explosion? Just curious.

Sorry i was too busy with work this week, but i'm hoping to have a go at cutting the crystal tomorrow. I wil probably have to rig a small cooling pump (or better still, an atomizer spray) which will get noisy if i have the compressor running LOL
I found a small gas tank which i can pump air into, and some tiny 3-way valves, so i should be able to rig a portable spray unit.
Hm while i'm at it, i also have some air powered drills etc, guess i could run the cutting wheel on it as well.....
As usual, you sometimes have to build a certain tool for a certain job, i know i could get something on ebay, but it saves me money & i get more pleasure out of building my own tools. And they tend to last a lot longer than commercial things anyway ;D

The idea is that highly ordered naturally formed objects like crystals have a greater than average potential to be "quantum entangled" which means that when a crystal from a single shard is cut into several pieces, actions performed on one of the pieces can be detected instantly by the other pieces no matter how far apart the pieces are.
There is another potential mechanism that might connect crystal structures of similar type over distance without EM.  MY theory is related to what Rupert Sheldrake describes in the following clip.

Basically, in a similar way to morphic resonance across time, crystals at a distance could communicate via the "morphic continuum" across distance.

Another interesting off-shoot of my theory is the hypothesis that the semi-crystalline structure inside human cells (including DNA) can communicate in a similar way.  This phenomenon could explain telepathy.

and basically it's the 100th monkey theory by his label of morphic resonance
the studies on octopi  probably are better than the once on rats..imo

I find it very interesting that all the old 'new age' stuff is resurfacing with nice new labels on them
this one and the heaven thing just to name a few...

must be time for a nap... we seem to be on the re-cycle part...again
