how many people do you know who are observant of their surroundings?
I think maybe 5 or 6, including me.

how many people do you know who can recall more than the latest on tv, facebook , etc. ?
Almost everyone I know.

how many people do you know who are fearless in questioning stuff that if they notices they may have to explain..even to themselves?
Maybe some 10, including all of the 5 or 6 I mentioned above.

say you catch something out of the corner of your eye as you enter or exit a room...what do you do..brush it off or try to check it out?
I try to check it out.

Quote
how far do yoiu check it out before you just move on...?
It depends on how important I consider the event, if I consider it really unexpected or strange I will check it out as much as I can.

And yes, that has happened to me once, not when I entered a room but when I was passing an empty house.

a lot of people will say ..hey this wierd thing happened..but they don't look for why or what it was or is.. just an interesting tidbit  for conversation
But they still consider it an "interesting tidbit for conversation", they do not ignore it.

i hope all those questions answered your question... ???
More or less. :)

Which are the ones that notice those things and the ones who do not?

The ones who have to ask are the ones who do not.
Everyone loves me, till they're sick of me

The ones who have to ask are the ones who do not.
That doesn't sound like an answer to my question.  :(

I had my own unusual encounter experience a couple of days ago.

I had been out somewhere and it was about an half an hour before dark and I wanted to kill a bit of time before going to another destination that I wanted to be about 45 minutes later.

I had driven down a small road that ( It led to a path that led to walking area) came to a dead end and turned my car around...I was then considering where to park my car...In order to do so I ended up driving back in the opposite direction...I noted a couple of suitable places...but I had driven back further than maybe Id initially expected to do.. I then decided to turn my car around again..and go back in the same initial direction to a spot closer to the end of the road closer to the path.

As I had turned my car around... At this point the Road had slightly bended and I could see the bottom of the Road in the distance , but not quite both sides of the road...Looking down the road to the path..On the left side of the road there was a school...and the other side some houses (About 10 at the most) with driveways for parking...There was a couple of cars parked also on the right side...with a couple of spaces in between them.

I was just about to drive back down to one of the parking spaces on the right....when another car came along and drove past me..

I decided to wait to see what the car did...Initially I could see it get to the bottom of the road and start to turn around just like I did...
But it seemed to go out of my sight... As part of my view was blocked due to the slight bend in the road and from the other two cars..parked on the right hand side..

I was waiting a few minutes to see if the car would drive back or if it was parking....It was a small Black car...

After I while it had Not appeared...so I thought that its either driven into one of the spaces that I had noted or driven onto one of the driveways..

So I then drove back to the area where the spaces were...and Parked.

I then walked to the path...as I was walking I was looking for a black car on one of driveways,  as no black car was parked in the other space on the roadside....and there was no small black car to be seen ...

I have no explanation !

The School had two entrances but had been locked up and as I walked along I could see into the area...

Any Car parked in the driveways were different sizes and colors..

The same two cars were parked on the roadside...

I had been a bit tired that night...and sometimes, I do feel like I am in a trance...or even in a dream like state...BUT on this occasion, I felt certain that a small black car drove past me along that road and started to turn around.... but it did not drive back past me nor was it visible anywhere to be seen...

Something that will puzzle me for some time !
