Zazzle

They came from nowhere an hit the internet like a storm... they are everywhere now.

So I looked them up, registered a Zazzle Shop, then looked to find just how it works and how much money you make.

So what is Zazzle? They sell t-shirts, mugs and anything else you can print on. You open a store, send in your artwork, and then list your items via facebook, twitter etc etc. When an item sells YOU get a royalty.

Now when you want to sell a coffee mug or a T-shirt, normally there is a MINIMUM order that you have to buy up front paid in advance. To get any real price break you really have to order a substantial amount. Today that is less than it used to be, but still with the added artwork setup fee and shipping, your first batch is a lot of cash out of pocket. Takes you a while to sell enough to break even

So say you can buy enough coffee mugs to get that price under $5.00, then you can sell it for 19.95 and make some money. The fewer you order the higher the cost (Vista Print charged $19.99 for ONE, you have to order over 50 to get close to a good price)

Okay so that is standard... has been that way forever

Along comes Zazzle...  you set up a store FREE, you pay ZERO for the items. You simply submit your artwork, decide what you print it on and add it to your shop. Then you promote it to friends, FB and websites etc.

How much do you make? Well that is the sticker.  You make a royalty on each piece sold. YOU set the royalty % BUT the higher your royalty the higher they set the price of the item. In otherwords they make the same no matter what

here is an example

Okay so on a 20.00 item, at 10% royalty you make 2.00

Now considering you pay nothing up front and they do all the work, shipping, payments etc it is still a good deal for anyone needing a few bucks. But they do get the lions share for your artwork.

I can however see that I could create images, art, graphics and photos specifically for Zazzle so with that in mind you can setup and forget and wait for a check. They also have an affiliate program. I know that those work so I applied for an account :D

Well actually it seems that by opening a store account you automatically get an associate account

In association with Zazzle.com
So what the heck... nothing to lose on this one, even if they get the lion's share.

Well we can do our own shirts, already have the first batch of mugs, but this is still a good idea, for us as a side line that basically just sits in the background once its running, and for others with no money that want to promote something

Not into coffee?   :o   >:(

I just found this forum after a long hiatus.  How did it go with Zazzle? Did it make a splash on the internet?  I ask because I do have some product in mind for my new fledgling business.

Thanks
