Zorgon's Treasures For Sale

got some goodies to sell off... stuff from my own collection.  Most will be visible on the store pages with links to Etsy, Ebay, etc but a few I want to post here that are more specific interest to members.

So lets start with an Illuminate Item LOL

1910 Pittsburg Commandery N0. 1 K.T.
31st Triennial Chicago

This beautiful hand-painted plate was made to commemorate the 31st Knight Templar Triennial in Chicago in 1910.  This plate has a wonderful Robin egg blue border trimmed in gold with a lovely red haired lady in the center wearing a blue and white dress revealing lots of cleavage!  This portrait plate is rather risqué for the year 1910!   It measures 8 inches in diameter and has the Knowles-Taylor-Knowles of East Liverpool, Ohio makers mark on the reverse. - Credit Phoenix Masons

Price: $64.50
Shipping: $9.50

Dimensions: 8" diameter
Weight: 12oz actual
Plate # HR3038

For those looking to make a few bucks.... Just to show an example of what you can do.

A month ago I saw this old Sofa at a yard sale around the corner. Needs new upholstery but not in bad shape. The woodwork is awesome

Paid $35.00 for it... put it on a dolly and wheeled it around the corner.  I posted it on Craigslist and got $150.00 for it within a week.

A few weeks later I saw another one just like it at a Salvation army thrift store for  $100.00  I called the lady who bought mine. She now has a matching pair

TREASURE HUNTING

Many people are to proud to go to thrift stores. Well that is a good thing for me   8)

A few weeks back we stopped at one of our usual stops, a Salvation Army Thrift Store, and we found an awesome piece.

Now both Salvation Army and Opportunity Village thrift stores have senior discounts (SallyAnn 25%  OV 30%) on Wednesdays... so we get that added discount on top of already low (and sale) prices.

Most of the time we are looking for cheap stuff  $1.00 items that can be resold for $5-19 online... but occasionally they do have nice furniture pieces that you can make a real profit on

Well a few weeks ago we found one. My daughter is collecting Oriental decor so this piece will become her investment (she worked extar overtime to pay for it) but thge point is that with a sharp eye and a little knowledge of value, you can find treasures

Now to be sure you need a little cash flow. We have generated a float pouch of $500.00. When that is spent we don't buy until stuff sells and we refill the pouch. You need cash on hand to make deals

Well this day we found a Chinese Screen for $300.00 (less the 25% discount) It had literally been put on the floor the night before

The inlay work is all hand carved Jade and other gem stones. These things generally fetch around $4-5,000.00 at Antique shows

The Chinese Urn on the right in the picture we picked up for $75.00  it should fetch $4-500.00

The Roman Armor is mine LOL

The point is... "SEEK AND YE SHALL FIND"   For a few hours overtime my daughter now has an hierloom investment piece that will only go up in value

yeah make replicas and sell them .  popular object.

make a plaster cast of the assyrian birdman, make a model, bake it. spray paint it copper, dab some aging on the feathers and high areas. sell for money.

peacock wicker chairs, if you can find them below 100 used, are sure sellers at yard sales.  people will stop, even off of fast moving roads, to see what the price is.  i used one to hold my yard sale sign and 10 people stopped just to buy the chair over the course of 2 hours.

even better, get one super cheap and paint peacock feather tails patterns on the wicker back or bread tie a series of actual peacock feathers to it, charge 5 times as much as the going rate for a chair without the design. people would buy that so fast, it'd make your head spin

i just did a mockup of what i mean so you could see it/ feathers are 17 dollars or even less, for pack of 10 (x2=20 feathers=34 dollars). bread ties (twisty ties) pack of 100, 6 bucks. lol so 40 dollar decoration + chair price investment, you can times the sell price by 5.  easily. the white parts on the feathers are just the background, not the actual feather. the actual feather is almost the same color as the chair

as a wedding reception furniture or bridal shower item:
spray paint it white first, then the add the peacock feathers  (or spray paint the feathers white too - experiment with how the feathers hold up to spray paint. would suck if by the time it got to the wedding party, the paint was falling off the feathers.  might be better in that cause to just bleach the color out), and sell as a wedding reception item.  up the price another 50 dollars or more, cause you painted it (and painted/bleached the feathers)

Chinese Ming Style Porcelain Temple Jar

This is the one we bought at Opportunity Village thrift store. OV is the group we did a lot of charity work for with the Medieval Guild  so I do get some special consideration there.  But this Temple Jar was donated from a high end furniture store after a convention show.  We paid $90.00 for it. I almost didn't get it as I left it there from Wed to Sunday when I figured I better come up with that $90.00

Well on Ebay someone else has one for $1,348.00  HERE

So I will start mine a little less

Chinese Ming Style Porcelain Temple Jar - $1280 (Eastern & Sahara)
New used as a store display only

Dimensions: 38" Tall  20" Diameter at widest
Weight: approx 60-70lbs
