Live Science-Mathematician's Century-Old Secrets Unlocked
« on: December 27, 2012, 02:35:32 PM »
I have always been fascinated by how long it takes the average people affiliated with such thing's as Einstein theory of relativity and other mathematical equations from our early 20 century scientific community are coming to fruition with in further understanding's and research for their feasibility and most of all, their legitimacy for having been expounded on by great mathematicians that are now gone. This story only adds too our understanding.

Quote
While on his death bed, the brilliant Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan cryptically wrote down functions he said came to him in dreams, with a hunch about how they behaved. Now 100 years later, researchers say they've proved he was right.

Theta is a very important part for scientific understanding in such matters as String Theory and a plethora of involvement with in other maths that require such things as *Sine/Co*sine and all of the other worldly possibilities with in understanding how too figure out what... this is really cool, took 105 years for  Einsteins theory to be proved, took only 92 years for Ramanujan's theory to be allocated for understanding..

Quote
Ramanujan believed that 17 new functions he discovered were "mock modular forms" that looked like theta functions when written out as an infinte sum (their coefficients get large in the same way), but weren't super-symmetric. Ramanujan, a devout Hindu, thought these patterns were revealed to him by the goddess Namagiri.

This is going too be a big breakthrough for Physics and understanding all that has thus far been discovered by way of the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) and other significant applications with in our understanding of configuration of the sciences.

The findings were presented last month at the Ramanujan 125 conference at the University of Florida, ahead of the 125th anniversary of the mathematician's birth on Dec. 22.

PWM , think this one should be archived for the research my friend. ;)
