One day there may be no power for a long time... what then?  Have Hu-mons forgotten the basics? I know they did in Japan...

For emergency...  you can sterilize water, have a bath and even make tea

Indeed, Z, soon after any calmity the gas will be scarce and the food even scarcer.

Kinda reminds me of Thanksgiving at Ginnie Springs!

We made a pact one year to live off the land for a week, and it was the most exciting and amazing week ever. We ate bass and perch, while cooking our food and water from the spring over a raging fire which was built in the middle of a wet, hollow log 4 feet in diameter, and 10 feet tall.

The holes in the sides of the log allowed for food to be cooked and also for wood to be added to it. That fire burned for six days until the log finally came crashing down in an ashen heap.

We all agreed we would do this every year, and have ever since!

Anyone game for camping this year? See ya there, but dont bring any generators or ice...we dont allow them!:D

Just guns, hand axes, and plenty of fishing gear!

And yes, we do bring some beer....

Thor, the folks down there are surely thankful for your efforts, youre a giant among men brother!

a smaller brush when painting your
out of state friends who come to help   
- and offer their generator (delivered)

i would have guessed most chainsaws would be ruined after a hurricane and flood.
fuel would be almost impossible to find.
better to have them come and not need them than need them and they not showup.
then they may need some gas money to go back home.if im in an emergency situation i dont care who shows up,im greatful.
