OK, I'll play.  I have thoughts about ether and energy and have posted these elsewhere.

Ether is the primary medium that all dimensions of space, all energy and all matter arise from, and is the medium that EM waves propagate in.  It transcends all of space and time and has a conscious quality that we can experience DIRECTLY, but not through any intellectual effort, dogma or thought process and all of those will surely prevent the realization of the eternal illumination which is what the ancient Hindu sages called it.  Brahman, the source of all and is direct experience of our source.  Realization of the eternal illumination is Samadhi, and when one has realized one's true nature there can be freedom from the karmic cycle of death and rebirth.  That is true enlightenment.

At the subatomic scale the ether is 2 dimensional with all dimensions of space arising from it.  Particles are waves in the ether like waves on the ocean, now days it is also called the Higgs field.  All matter and energy is ALWAYS rooted in the base medium.  We are all connected to the farthest stars in the universe.  Like the article about Ben Rich and the technology to take ET home, it works because EVERYTHING is connected.
 
The ether is 2 dimensional.

Today, Carlip outlines his own fascinating take on the problem which is that spacetime on the tiniest scale may be two dimensional. While that may seem a little counterintuitive, he says there is a growing number of indicators (evidence is too strong a word) that point to that conclusion.

Carlip says recent work in loop quantum gravity, high temperature string theory, renormalization group analysis applied to general relativity and other areas of quantum gravity research, all hints at a two dimensional spacetime on the smallest scale. In most of these cases, the number of dimensions simply collapse in a process called spontaneous dimensional reduction as the scale reduces.

The number of dimensions collapse in spontaneous dimensional reduction because all dimensions of space ARISE from spacetime/ether.  This is the description of the ancient illuminated Hindu sages also.  The entire universe manifesting from a primary source.  We don't need to reinvent the wheel.  They were much wiser than we are today, and their insight is available to us in these times.  They had a method of DIRECTLY EXPERIENCING the primary medium, the source of all, Brahman.  We can talk about that if anyone wants.  I can relate their path to you and would willingly and joyfully do so.  It is not strictly a Hindu path, but is a human path, not a religion but a door. 

Energy is movement of ether, when the primary medium is placid it it only detectable by it's gravitational influence, ie dark energy.  This movement that we observe manifests as the em spectrum, and gravity waves.
 
CRAFT:
I think that some craft we see are utilizing torsion physics and some are ours, from black projects and others are from private concerns with substantial resources and some belong to other beings from other worlds and times.

 I also think that some things that are witnessed are manifestations of the light body, or as it is known in Jewish mysticism, the merkabah.
