ArMap's right, the people having a free ride for providing subpar and useless content for years are getting a taste of private decisions by private companies..even though the ceo of youtube is a dolt and a moron, they have every right to do what they want with content and acceptance of material for display on their site.

I agree They can do as They wish...  But They are doing it under false pretenses.  And I expect backlash.  All I am doing is making it clear what We are facing there.

Freedom of Speech is not an absolute. in fact it comes with many restrictions People tend to for get that part :P

Freedom of speech is the right to articulate one's opinions and ideas without fear of government retaliation or censorship, or societal sanction. The term freedom of expression is sometimes used synonymously, but includes any act of seeking, receiving and imparting information or ideas, regardless of the medium used.

The right to freedom of expression is recognized as a human right under article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and recognized in international human rights law in the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR). Article 19 of the UDHR states that "everyone shall have the right to hold opinions without interference" and "everyone shall have the right to freedom of expression; this right shall include freedom to seek, receive and impart information and ideas of all kinds, regardless of frontiers, either orally, in writing or in print, in the form of art, or through any other media of his choice".

The version of Article 19 in the ICCPR later amends this by stating that the exercise of these rights carries "special duties and responsibilities" and may "therefore be subject to certain restrictions" when necessary "[f]or respect of the rights or reputation of others" or "[f]or the protection of national security or of public order (order public), or of public health or morals". Therefore, freedom of speech and expression may not be recognized as being absolute, and common limitations to freedom of speech relate to libel, slander, obscenity, pornography, sedition, incitement, fighting words, classified information, copyright violation, trade secrets, non-disclosure agreements, the right to privacy, the right to be forgotten, public security, and perjury.

Justifications for such include the harm principle, proposed by John Stuart Mill in On Liberty, which suggests that: "the only purpose for which power can be rightfully exercised over any member of a civilized community, against his will, is to prevent harm to others."

What are they doing, exactly, and what are those false pretences?

PS: I didn't watch the video, as usual. ;D

They're using manufactured psyops as "justification."  They are saying They are doing it to stem "extremism," which has no definition but anything against the controlmind (government).  They are suggesting that all the "ISIS recruitment" is part of what They want to stem - yet no One can find ANY serious "radicalization" vids.  It's a non-problem.  What it really will be used for is to censor the Ones who share truth and efforts to remove psychopaths from control on Our planet.

And to z:  You do not offer Me any info I do not already have - though the readers of this site may be interested in that.  Thanks, even though it is irrelevant to the moves based on false excuses.

They have done nothing but exercised their right not to distribute material. The material can still be requested from the originator.

Shouldn't you say "what I consider psyops"?

Do they really say that or that's your interpretation?

They don't need any excuse, they have closed many channels before and will do it whenever they think it's best for their business.

Thanks for your explanation, although I would have preferred facts instead of your interpretation.

Shouldn't you say "what I consider psyops"?

I shall say what MANY, after researching, give a 99.999% probability of being psyops, Myself included.

They say that specifcally.

As I said, I agree They can do what They want.  But why make up sh!t and excuse it?  What would be the point?

And it's hardly My "interpretation" that They say, specifically, that They are combating "extremism."

Not so...  They have made an excuse that does not fly for censoring the users.  And if You don't know the material is out there, how are You going to know to request it?  This is a move to shut up People who are showing all the issues with the psyops.

A few or many, after research or not, it's still just an opinion, not a fact.

Probably to gain support from other people, so they can get more advertisers

Judging by the quotation marks you quoted a few words in your whole post, the rest is your interpretation.

PS: I didn't watch the video, as usual. ;D

You do not need to watch the video :P  The Video is just someone named "Son of Perdition"  reading from an article by ABC news and inserting his opinion and interpretation..

So to see what was actually said... we should pull up the actual article without the biased commentary in the video telling you what to think :P

Google promises YouTube crackdown on terrorist propaganda, extremist videos

Quote
oogle is promising to be more vigilant about preventing terrorist propaganda and other extremist videos from appearing on its YouTube site amid intensifying criticism about the internet's role in mass violence.

Its crackdown will involve both computer programs and an expanded group of people dedicated to identifying videos promoting terrorism so they can be blocked from appearing on YouTube or quickly removed.

Google is making the commitment in the wake of violent attacks in the U.S. and elsewhere. A van struck a crowd of people outside a London mosque Sunday, the second time an automobile was used as a weapon in that city this month, and less than a week after a gunman attacked GOP lawmakers on a baseball field.

And earlier this month, British Prime Minister Theresa May called on governments to form international agreements to prevent the spread of extremism online. Some proposed measures would hold companies legally accountable for the material posted on their sites, a liability that Google and other internet companies are trying to avert.

Toward that end, Facebook last week pledged to use more advanced technology and more than 150 human reviewers to find and remove terrorist content before people see it on its social networking site.

Although Google said in a blog post that it is been trying to block extremist content for years, its general counsel Kent Walker wrote that "the uncomfortable truth is that we, as an industry, must acknowledge that more needs to be done. Now."

Anti-hate groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center have skewered Google and Facebook for doing too little to muzzle hate groups online.

Google, along with other companies such as Facebook, Microsoft and Twitter, recently agreed to create an international forum to share and develop technology, support smaller businesses and speed up their joint efforts against online terrorism.

To step up its policing efforts, Google will nearly double the number of independent experts it uses to flag problematic content and expand its work with counter-extremist groups to help identify content that may be used to radicalize and recruit terrorists.

The Mountain View, California, company will also train more people to identify and remove extremist and terrorism-related content faster.

Google also is taking a tougher stance on videos that don't clearly violate its policies but still offend broad swaths of society, like those that contain inflammatory religious or supremacist content. YouTube won't remove those videos, but viewers will first have to click through an "interstitial" warning in order to see them.

Google also won't sell ads alongside this category of objectionable video to reduce the moneymaking opportunities for their creators. These initiatives could help Google woo back major advertisers who began pulling back from YouTube earlier this year after learning that their brands sometimes appeared next to unsavory videos.

YouTube also won't recommend these videos to its users, and it won't allow YouTube users to endorse them or leave comments — all efforts aimed at limiting their popularity.

Google is also teaming up with Jigsaw, a company also owned by its corporate parent Alphabet Inc., to target online ads at potential Isis recruits in hopes of diverting them to anti-terrorist videos.

Now a few years ago Google did the SAME THING for all PORN

Where was the outcry about censorship back then?  Google will block all searches for anything porn related  but I don't hear a big stink about that

problem with porn censorship is that a TIT is a bird

While TIT is still allowed :P  you can see how this can effect normal searches.  But no one cried "Psyops" when they shut down the porn industry and that is a lot less harmful than terrorists, and hate groups selling their wares

Did you know that if you move $10,000 dollars the DHS will be all over you? (used to be 5,000 but they raised it)  Try to send gold to a refinery  DHS will be all over you checking if you have Islamic Connections are Drug Trafficker buddies

And the solution?

STOP USING GOOGLE  Bing still allows porn  Bwahahahaha
