Baddmoves stuffed mushrooms..
« on: June 10, 2012, 05:46:06 pm »
O.K. I wasn't going to post this..

my wife says they are too good for the general public..

but...Since we are all friends now and we  are not really the general public...

here goes..

40 mushroom caps..no stems..

1 8 oz pack of cream cheese.

1 16 oz ball of skim mozzarella cheese.(shred it fine or just buy it shredded)

1 pound of bacon..I like bacon...Crispy..

any sweet onion you like best..

combine cream cheese and mozzarella in a bowl at room temp..

throw in the bacon and onion.(Crush the bacon into small pieces..)

Mix with hands..I always do..made with love my wife says..

after mixed..

put in fridge to chill for about half an hour..

put shroom caps on cookie sheet and spoon a big chunk of mixture into each cap..

set oven to 350*

place shrooms in oven for 15 mins or until lightly golden brown..

I make these a lot and can tell you that people will say ..

"I don't like mushrooms"

Heck, I've had to make those same people stop eating them so the rest of us could have some...

Any left over mix can be eaten on damn near anything..

I like mine on an English muffin..

WARNING!! very addicting

Then, why doncha just go ahead and make some, and send them on over!!? :))

Thanks for the recipe baddmove. It does sound delicious!

Do you eat them while hot/warm, or, are they pretty well edible at any temperature?

Well, they sure do sound "good"! At some point, I might drizzle a little olive oil, or coconut oil, over them, just before baking, to see how that works too - ever tried that?

Of course, I am going to do them the "right way" first, per your directions!! :)) Just hard to beat food that actually tastes good!!

The Resolute's feline nurse is going to try them.  I'm going to share the recipe with my idiot son-in-law too.  Yes, he really is an idiot.  So's my husband, which is why they don't like each other.  Sigh.

Just an outside comment Shasta. Sort of what I said earlier.

Men can be like food. The ones that are really GREAT....can at times be exceptionally aggravating to the system..... The ones that are bland and boring..... are hardly worth messing with.  Linda

Damn! Badmove! Those sound yummy!
Ill be a makin them tomorrow as I have a nice pack of baby portobellas.

Let the family know Ill keep them a secret! 8)

And bacon? I really think we could survive on it indefinitely! :)

Welcome to PRC and as a fellow mushroom head, I must say Ive tried many ways of stuffing those little guys, and they never cease to amaze me!
My wife loves something similar Ive been making for years which have Chevre cheese in place of the mozz and cream, and sun dried tomatoes and bacon. I top them with panko seasoned with herbs de provence, and cook until toasted on top!

Creminis work best, but an inside joke several here will recognize is to use poopake mushrooms!:D

Mmmm poopakes, they are the poop! Welcome new friend! lets cook!
Cheers!

Those must be the mushrooms that Poop-Szu dogs like.

Yeah, Linda, but I' m ready to shoot my other half tonight.  I made Copper River salmon poached in lemon and butter for dinner.  He bolted his food and ran back to his video game.

Shasta, I haven't traveled a lot, but some internationally. And what I found in most places was that eating, especially what we now call "dinner", is pretty much a social occasion, even for families. There is no hurry to eat and go! In many places, the wait staff absolutely will not bring the "check/ticket" until you ask for it. Often, people may take two or three hours for eating and socializing around the table.

I am a slow eater anyway, but I really enjoy the many tastes of food that is prepared by cooks/chefs who like to cook.

Most of the time, because I do eat slow, I end up having to eat in a rush toward the end, as most everyone else I would be eating with seems to eats fast - "fast" means large bites, and low number of chews per bite.

Yes, in today's world, there are a lot of things going on, that tend to detract from many of the norms of the past - video games being one of those too! :)

What you prepared does sound really good, even though I am more of a fried fish (not fried salmon) person! :)) But, I said, that sure does sound really good!!!!

Shasta

which game?  :D
some games, for game connoisseurs are tasty like copper river salmon poached in lemon and butter.  neither can replace the other, but they go really well together.  i mean what's better than a delicious meal AND one of your favorite past times?
