Title: Major Speech In China

An interesting major policy speech was made in China - and didn't get much coverage.  It's a surprising view of the future given by a world power usually associated with rapacious development (and damn the pollution consequences).

However, they appear serious about it in terms of making major changes.  I see this development as consistent with my hypothesis that earth is being influenced towards a new governance.  If Aliens are out there pulling strings,  greater respect for nature/life would be expected.

Recycling Chaos In U.S. As China Bans 'Foreign Waste'
December 9, 20178:00 AM ET
The U.S. exports about one-third of its recycling, and nearly half goes to China. For decades, China has used recyclables from around the world to supply its manufacturing boom. But this summer it declared that this "foreign waste" includes too many other nonrecyclable materials that are "dirty," even "hazardous." In a filing with the World Trade Organization the country listed 24 kinds of solid wastes it would ban "to protect China's environmental interests and people's health."

The complete ban takes effect Jan. 1, but already some Chinese importers have not had their licenses renewed. That is leaving U.S. recycling companies scrambling to adapt.

Feb 15, 2017 - Operation Green Fence (OGF) is a policy that was launched by China in 2013 to provide more aggressive inspection of imported scrap. ... China doesn’t even want to buy our garbage anymore
By Brad Plumer May 9, 2013

But now that cozy arrangement is in danger. Over at Quartz, Gwynn Guilford reports that China has recently launched "Operation Green Fence" — a policy to prohibit the import of unwashed post-consumer plastics and other "contaminated" waste shipments. And that's led to a serious crackdown of U.S. trash imports:

Operations Green Fence did not involve new regulations. Instead it was a way to enforce regulations that were enacted in April 2011. These Chinese regulations, referred to as Article 12, stated: “In the process of importing solid waste, measures shall be taken to prevent it [imports] from spread[ing] seepage and leakage or other measures to prevent pollution of [the] environment.” Chinese officials were quick to showcase some of the abuses that were taking place involving imports and shared photos of garbage, food waste and other substandard material that were shipped under the name “recyclables.”

I do know that refuse and scrap is a major export to China - and it seems the Confucian bureaucracy has decided that changes will be made. There's a TED lecture in which a Chinese businessman 'cheerleads' on his optimism that China will achieve its long term goals.

I truly, truly hope that the US turns around and finds its way back towards freedom and progress - but it seems like that is a long way off, if ever - but as they say, "time and tide wait for no man".

I've read some Confucius myself; I consider it to be (in some respects) among the most positive forms of philosophical expression in existence.  With that said, Confucius was primarily concerned with the ideal of a harmonious society, in which life consists of a pedestrian and regimented existence until around the age of 75, at which point one is expected to die.  A Confucian Utopia would look a lot like an ant colony.  Everything in its' place, and everything working flawlessly, but with the same routine in repetition for eternity.

The existential crisis of the Chinese, is at the center of the Aquarian Age itself.  Do we prefer prescribed, regimented "harmony," on the one hand, in which everyone knows his place, without any form of novelty or alteration ever being permitted, and where real freedom completely ceases to exist; or do we somehow make peace with, and allowance for chaos, and accept that it must exist if self-determination is to as well?

The world is currently held by the illusion that it has become far too modern and sophisticated for anything so quaint, archaic, and most of all disruptive as freedom; and hence, is apparently in need of a reminder of what life is like without it.  The proverbial tree of liberty will burn down to a stump before it is permitted to grow again.

So be it.  Let the Millennials take their medicine.  Let them be forced to their knees, and have it shoved down their throats; and then let them sob and beg for forgiveness from the ghosts of every other human generation that has gone before them.

There are three angles to look at,china is short sighted, recycling is about to end,or the germans arent selling recyling tech.
A few years back, germans were bragging of a recycling furnace.it burned every iota and recycled it all into raw materials with heat and electricity to spare to power a city.
