ok Sarge

here's one for ya

it's supposed to be italian and the recipe was given to me by a wonderful old italian lady years and years ago
it's for dipping  new  fresh-out-of-the-garden veggies
and it's called
Bagna Calda

the proportions change  or not with how you like it

>anchovies in oil   into the skillet and mash the anchovies
>garlic.. however much you like ..also mashed into the oil
warming slowly
>sardines in oil  ..i use the skinless , boneless ones
   yep  also mashed in
> tuna  in oil also....yep mash it in
.....................heat slowly and mix well

serve hot with cabbage and green peppers to use for dipping
or whatever veggie you like

one time i made more than we could  eat and i covered it and put it in the frig...planning on heating it  the next day

pulled it out and just tasted it cold.. yummmm still good
got some crackers and had it on them with cold beer while watching the game

so hot or cold  .. good stuff

as with any recipe you do the amounts to your taste

not having any language skills we say bun-ya call-da
but this spelling is what i was able to find and tons of reciped too
when i found it

i'll bet Armap has something like it..

en~joy

In Italian, all vowels are read as "open", so the "a"s in "bagna calda" are spoken as the "a" in "father"

I love oily fish and pate.  It sounds like a garlicky fish pate.  Yum.  I'm going to try to make something similar.  I might skip the tuna as I think they are overfished...
