A few ideas I can offer the Game Development Team would be - besides yet another variant of the shootem- up genre, what can a game offer a player?
The only game that ever filled the bill for me in that respect was called - Drowned God -
"The game propounds the conspiracy theory that all of human history is a lie and the human race's development and evolution were aided by extra-terrestrials. The player attempts to uncover the truth through the course of the game by traveling to a variety of different worlds, interacting with historical and fictional characters, and solving puzzles." - (Wikipedia)
What a crazy theory right?
Besides impressive graphics and equally impressive soundtrack, each flight through a Stargate lands you somewhere you encounter a new type of puzzle you have never seen before, and then first grapple with what it is they want you to solve before you even begin trying to solve it!
This provided a very immersive and entertaining distraction during my off- time from a very stressful job, far better than a mere crossword puzzle or anything of the like could do.
Your job as a player is to then uncover and connect the hidden conspiratorial knowledge and discover the secret of the Drowned God.
And the content always dealt with known conspiracies -
"Drowned God's concept centers around the idea that human history has been manipulated to cover up certain facts.[2]
The true history, according to the game, is that aliens from the Orion area of space seeded humanity on Earth thousands of years ago and have since guided its development.[3]
An ancient, highly developed civilization was lost millennia ago in the Great Flood. The library of Alexandria housed much of what game writer Harry Horse called "forbidden knowledge" before it was destroyed.
The Knights Templar, whose membership included luminaries such as Leonardo da Vinci and Isaac Newton, preserved the information for centuries.
In the 20th century, the Philadelphia Experiment opened a gateway into another dimension, first freeing the aliens Horse refers to as "the Legion".
An independent government group spent the subsequent decades in contact with the aliens following the Roswell UFO incident.[2]" - (Wikipedia)
(And yes, we even get to visit Area 51.)
What's not to love about following the trail of a mystery based upon THAT??
I managed to find some videos of the walk through, and I hope they might inspire some of the members in one fashion or another, to perhaps add another dimension (
) of interest to the new game development.
