Otter, although in online terms at least, I still can't bring myself to do it, the current political polarisation keeps reinforcing to me, the idea that minimising my exposure to mainstream society, is becoming vital to maintaining my will to live.  If I use Reddit at all at this point, it keeps me in an almost continual state of anger, so I'm in the process of trying to wean myself off it.

I am really trying hard to stay neutral.  I believe that the attitudes of both the extreme Left and Right are conducive to human extinction; but if I am honest, on a purely emotional level, I am more negatively biased towards the Left at this point, simply because I consider them such hypocrites, and also because truthfully for the most part I haven't seen the Right behaving in anywhere near as genuinely authoritarian a manner as they are.

pets r us

i guess we will have to go with a chuckle that we agree so much on this...yeah you and me.. ;D

i thought i was in the middle of the road on politics and that who ever was in would only be there a short time.. but i can't listen to the news at all anymore for the reasons you state..
i wish i could find the article i read a few days ago in the local paper (quite by mistake , i might add) that the reason so many were quitting / not running/ etc was because they couldn't be independent in their position  - that the national organization for the party was making them toe the line...
now that scares me more than anything...
who the hell is running what anymore...?? i have no idea

soooooooooooooooo
i am trying very very hard to back away as much as possible and focus on local and self things...
hubby is a local councilman and 'party' affiliation is a non issue..
the members are very community oriented  rather than who belongs to what party..and i feel that is the way it should be and the way it mostly was..
perhaps i dreamt a kinder way to govern..perhaps it was one of those other dimensions..

but the stage of the current world only makes me want to check into  some other dimensions/options...

hey maybe we all need a secret word to yell at each other if we all jump ship at the same time..hahahahahahahahah

take care

oh  yeah on the isreal thing.. i just shake my head
a  contentious Israeli anti-boycott law.
say what..now we can't decide to come/go  or not  ? ?
unreal ::)

the not paying attention was (1) the line after his age of 74

Quote
He was 74.

Edwards, who was born February 3rd, 1932 in Birmingham, Alabama

1932 would have made him 85 the day before  he was 86

so i went to bio and it says

Quote
Born: February 3, 1943, Fairfield, AL

so now the year of birth works but (2) a different location !!!!

hence my comment about facts..no proof reading..no checking for content..makes me wonder if close is the new accepted fact
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...sorry i like exact not close..over it   :'(  ..done  :-X

and yes i know most wouldn't have even noticed..sigh

Otter, the year was probably a typo that wasn't caught; if I remember correctly, Fairfield Alabama is a suburb of Birmingham...

Otter, the year was probably a typo that wasn't caught;
Probably written on the numeric keys above the letters instead of the numeric keypad, as that way is easy to turn a "43" into a "32", you just have to move your hand one key to the left.
