The rise in sea level from the fresh water ice melt will then change salinity of Ocean water and thus the temperature of the Ocean currents. Last time that happend just a few degrees we had the MINI ICE AGE in Europe that saw the invention of the FIREPLACE, the addition of WINDOW PANES and the advent of TAPESTRIES on stone walls to keep in the heat

The FACT that GLOBAL WARMING and COOLING is a NATURAL CYCLE was proven by the LAKE VOSTOK, ANTARCTICA Ice Core samples...  425,000 year record

Zorgon, this chart is very telling IMO - or it raises some obvious questions!!

So, this Earth has experienced 6 different warming periods and 5 different cooling periods in the past 415,000 years. It seems obvious the warming period cycles are relatively short, while the cooling periods are very long. Actually, the warming periods are almost insignificant relative to length of time for the cooling periods.

The warming period we are in now is one of the longest at about 10,000 years, with one other warming period of about that length. The other warming periods range from only 2,000 to 6,000 years.

Tha shortest cooling period is about 25,000 years long, with the other 5 cooling periods ranging from about 70,000 years to 110,000 years. So, when it begins to get cold, it stays on the cold side for a very long time.

Also, we should notice that the max warming temp rise over 415,000 years has been only +9 degrees, and that for only a very short time. On the other hand the long cold periods have ranged down to  - 20 degrees and more below the median temps.  So, when it gets cold, it is very cold!

Now does any one want to propose that the 5 short "warming periods" are the actual result of "industrialization" on this planet Earth, by prior civilizations?

Or, is it more likely the systematic affect of the continuing evolution of our neighborhood star, as "it does and is what it is"?

On the basis of this chart (and assuming its accuracy within "years", I would say we are currently hanging by a slim thread, and are very likely to be entering into a very noticeable real cooling period in the "relative very near future - ie anytime from tomorrow to a few thousand years!

The history of yesterday and the experiences of today are great indicators of what tomorrow holds for us - unless we have the will and power to make a change!

The Tibetans and Rosicrucians believe that THIS our current civilization, is the FIFTH

Are you suggesting that the universe is running on it's own plan?

Yes anywhere from soon to a 1000 years sounds right but look at the slopes. Once it goes, it goes fast. The ice cores are kept in cold storage  (I think in Norway)  so anyone can check the results  like tree rings they don't lie, though I imagine that the religious folks might have a quandry.

Believe it or not... this is the goal of HAARP and geoengineering. And yet the very people it will protect are fighting against it.

To be sure we CANNOT trust blindly that the scientists know what they are doing :P after all some wanted to drill a hole in Yellowstone to "relieve the pressure" and some wanted to nuke the San Andreas fault to 'nudge' it along

But that is the intent  HAARP to provide a replacement shield when and if the magnetic field of earth collapses and Geoenginnerring to provide global dimming

Dang its HOT outside  117F  Where are those chemtrails when ya need em?   >:(

My AC bill is going to be MURDER this month  ARRGGGGGGGG

Remember I said that when the freeze come it will come FAST? That they found frozen mammoths still digesting their last meal?

Well the currently melting ice in Siberia has just yielded anotherone... this one the blood still flowing after it was thawed  :o

Russian scientists make rare find of 'blood' in mammoth

Russian scientists claimed Wednesday they have discovered blood in the carcass of a woolly mammoth, adding that the rare find could boost their chances of cloning the prehistoric animal.

An expedition led by Russian scientists earlier this month uncovered the well-preserved carcass of a female mammoth on a remote island in the Arctic Ocean.

Semyon Grigoryev, the head of the expedition, said the animal died at the age of around 60 some 10,000 to 15,000 years ago, and that it was the first time that an old female had been found.
But what was more surprising was that the carcass was so well preserved that it still had blood and muscle tissue.

"When we broke the ice beneath her stomach, the blood flowed out from there, it was very dark," Grigoryev, who is a scientist at the Yakutsk-based Northeastern Federal University, told AFP.
"This is the most astonishing case in my entire life. How was it possible for it to remain in liquid form? And the muscle tissue is also red, the colour of fresh meat," he added.

Grigoryev said that the lower part of the carcass was very well preserved as it ended up in a pool of water that later froze over. The upper part of the body including the back and the head are believed to have been eaten by predators, he added.

"The forelegs and the stomach are well preserved, while the hind part has become a skeleton."

The discovery, Grigoryev said, gives new hope to researchers in their quest to bring the woolly mammoth back to life.

"This find gives us a really good chance of finding live cells which can help us implement this project to clone a mammoth," he said.

"Previous mammoths have not had such well-preserved tissue."

A researcher at Northeastern Federal University in Yakutsk on May 13 holds a phial said to contain mammoth blood. An expedition led by Russian scientists earlier this month uncovered the well-preserved carcass of a female mammoth on a remote island in the Arctic Ocean.

Quote
n the coming months, mammoth specialists from South Korea, Russia and the United States are expected to study the remains which the Russian scientists are now keeping at an undisclosed northern location.
"I won't say where it is being kept or it may get stolen," he said.
Last year, a teenager from a nomadic family in Russia's north stumbled upon a massive well-preserved woolly mammoth, in what scientists described as the best such discovery since 1901.
The young male mammoth was dubbed Zhenya after the nickname of the boy who discovered it.
Global warming has thawed ground in northern Russia that is usually almost permanently frozen, leading to the discoveries of a number of mammoth remains.

Wasn't 10,000 years ago a time when the temperatures were higher and 15,000 years ago when they were rising?

So if I live in NYC, I should buy a penthouse over 400 feet off the ground. That way I will have an ocean view in a few years.

So, does that mean that we shouldn't trust neither the temperature changes chart or the age of the mammoth?

NORTH POLE SEES UNPRECEDENTED JULY COLD ARCTIC SEES SHORTEST SUMMER ON RECORD

Normally, the Acrtic has about 90 days above freezing. This year there "WAS" less than half that. This is a today's news item, but I thought this thread to be an appropriate place for this information, as it possibly does have significant bearing relative to "global cooling". Below is a link for the full report.

The Date thing sucks because we tie it to a label of AD/BC for a start!

I've noticed many odd things over the year's regarding weather.  It snowed once where I was born and it has never happened again.  I've seen odd flash flood's here in Melbourne where I did document the the storm on another forum.

If anyone saw my thread regarding a Documentary called "First Footprints" it would seem the Original Humans who went gangbusters in Australia also went through a similar period of freeze...without all the "hail mary's" too I might add :D

At some point The Hail Mary's spotted a place here on Earth and went a little nutz.  Reason.... unknown as they still exist right now and we don't know the answer.  :(

One really odd thing I noticed of a web variety is how The Webbot may have got a hit.  Clif had been saying for years how 2013 was going to be Web Blackout of some variety.  Oddly it's now true in the mind's of people.
