For making creamed corn, or any variant that requires kernals fresh from the cob , you can use a shoehorn to remove them (although you might want to sterilize it first). ;D

Really cool tips :)

I might add one I learnt once my dad gave me a knife set worth using from Japan called Global. 

Get a Good Set of Knives, or buy ONE good Knife.  The difference in the kitchen is without doubt amazing. 

As I've recently returned from Taiwan I managed to repay the favor to my Dad and bought him a True Craft Knife from Taiwan. 

I know my tip  HAS drifted into my travel story's, and that is not the purpose of this thread, but heck Knive's and Blade Smithing is such a fascinating topic when related to the kitchen that I couldn't help myself.   ;D

Well worth watching for you folke out there that like to make your tool's to find a buck to make tip's easier :)
