Boldly gone onto the final mission....

A great Pilot ... A great Engineer ... A great promoter of manned space missions.

I will miss him .... seems the world has already forgotten him ... that's a great shame.

Well, I don't know  for the world, but here in France it's on all television, press and
internet sites ...
We all , emmmm, some of us, the ole ones ! , remember July 1969, even if
the youth are far far from that day ( they have others big problems actually ! )
The Apollo teams still are heroes here, even if some of us suspect all wasn't so

All the best !

I don't know how this can happen, but I suppose they would not have to worry about Vandals. But it would commemorate a hero of the American People for an eternity, just have a heck of a time going there for vacation.
Hear a lot of spreading his remains on the surface of the moon as well, but a spendy venture , even for PTB's that could make this happen.
Thought I would add this here, in conjunction with his passing away stealthyaroura, if you do not want this here, let Mods know, I am sure they would move it. ;)

The passing of famed astronaut Neil Armstrong, the first man to walk on the moon and commander of Apollo 11, may strengthen the movement to designate the Tranquility Base lunar landing site as a National Historic Landmark.

The field of space heritage preservation is gaining momentum, and a recently authored bill aims protect the Apollo 11’s Eagle lunar lander touchdown site and all the artifacts that astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin left behind on the lunar surface.

There are more comments here in John Lear's area.  He hasn't been forgotten.
