This is a new recipe I tried, looking for different ways to cook Shrimp (my fav)
I went to our garden and harvested some herbs.
from left to right:
Parsley, green onions, lemon thyme, oregano.
Chopped and put aside.
Cook pasta and set aside (your choice)
In a bowl add one pound of cleaned and de-veined shrimp (you can use any protein)
season with salt and pepper (your taste)
dust with flour to coat all shrimp evenly
In a skillet, add 1 tblsp butter and 1 tblsp olive oil (all i cook with)
add shrimp and cook until both sides are crispy (turning of course)
remove shrimp when done and set aside.
add another 1 tblsp of butter and slowly scrap up the substance of the cooked shrimp
while doing this
add 2 cups of milk (or chicken broth)
add flour to thicken to taste
add cooked shrimp into mixture
add chopped herbs
Then season with Tony Chachere's Cajun season (to taste)(or salt and pepper)
let simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally
when you are ready (tasting as you go)
add cooked pasta (I love angel hair pasta)
Done.
Viola!
