Currently, the EU is trying to push Greece out of the euro by demanding draconian terms and then pointing to a 'Plan B' of humanitarian support. I do wonder if Germany sees its opportunity to end being a US vassal and position itself for renewed growth in alliance with Eurasia.
They kick out Greece - and then put pressure on the weaker EU nations. Greece turns to Russia for help and busts up NATO thereby. It's sort of a Fabian strategy of gradual victory that gets Germany allied with Russia/China and then positioned for future growth. The EU seems to have been founded on the notion that 'everybody can be Germany' and that's BS. I think they see a way out of the EU mess.
