...

As was I.  I've noticed a pattern for a while now, of Thor posting material (primarily relating to Fukushima) which privately I thought was unlikely to accomplish anything other than promoting fear and anxiety.

Fukushima is not something which any of us here can do anything material about; and as a result of that, there is nothing to be practically gained by mentally focusing on it.
...

Greetings friend petrus4:

Speak for yourself, ye of little faith.

"You never know when a bread tie could save your life."

So, was EARTH AID - The Concert to Save All Life On Earth another of those books you judged by the cover - another of your condemnations of 'doom porn' and as such considered of little consequence?

Our take on the subject is that if we can reach just that one more entity that tips the scale in favor of sensible alternatives to nuclear energy, we will have accomplished something through the spreading of relevant information - doom porn in your eyes.

Do you understand the concept of each community hosting an Earth Aid awareness event - say 4 July 2013 - when there will already be a venue, food, music and people? Even a small table covered with leaflets, buttons and flyers presenting the problems and solutions with nukes and staffed by local 'anti-nuke' peeps will help spread the word.

It is now time for
we, the people,
to peaceably assimilate, create
and manifest a positive response to this,
the world’s greatest environmental challenge.

We'll present major acts in large venues like Wimbleton, the Metrodome (Minneapolis, where we launched the Steel Wheels tour), the Georgia Dome, etc. and satellite the big acts worldwide.

Our dear friends, this is a sad indictment of the nuclear-challenged world we live in today.

USA, Canada and Europe Radiation Fallout Forecast + Rad Levels in US cities

Dear Reader, please do us a big favor, just this once.

and put that window in the background with the music at a decent level, just not so loud as to distract your thought processes while reading the following, please.

Music on and screen backgrounded?

Enter the zone and read on...

So, where are we?

The world is only one more “event” away from the banishment of the scourge of nuclear energy forever: one event - be that a world-wide consciousness-raising multi-media event on a scale paralleling Live Aid

(still, 26 years later, the standard by which other all-hands-on-deck rock and charity events are judged), or the unthinkable - another Chernobyl, Three Mile Island or Fukushima nightmare disaster/fiasco.

What do enquiring minds really want?

This:

Nuclear Radiation In The Ocean Near Fukushima Now 4,385 Times Above Normal

... or this?

Looking Back At Live Aid, 25 Years Later

At one point, according to a stage announcement, 95 percent of the world's television sets were tuned in to Live Aid — an even more incredible statistic when you consider that it happened before the Internet, cell phones, e-mail, text messaging, streaming video, Facebook and Twitter.

So what can we do?

We can dream about ambitious possibilities and believe in positive solutions.

We can envision concerned citizens across the world coming together for a fun-filled learning experience and unite all anti-nuclear organizations to speak in a single voice:

No Nukes!

We can conceptualize an idea: how about LIVE EARTH AID ... or working title Earth Aid

Earth Aidis dedicated to the creation of an interactive world-wide multi-media event to raise awareness about the challenges and solutions associated with nuclear energy.

We can say that we now have a raison d'être.

What the world needs now is a knight in shining armor to ride in and save the day and help us produce this world-changing event.

What the world needs now is another Bob Geldof or Kevin Wall or Bianca Jagger to take the bull by the horns and make this event a reality - perhaps to literally save mankind and our planet ... can we have a little help here, please?

The simple truth is:  the choice is ours to make or the choice will be made for us.

So which will it be - life or death?

We choose life - and rock and roll for humanity.

EARTH AID is dedicated to the creation of an interactive multimedia worldwide event to raise awareness about the challenges and solutions of nuclear energy.

Doom Porn... like regular porn, is GOOD FOR BUSINESS :D

I hear all the survivalist stores are selling out of everything :D

But regular porn, which accounts for about 80% of all internet traffic... has an advantage... there is always another girl comes along.  :P

But with this 2012 doom stuff... they will be hard pressed to carry on   8)

But hey  we have a couple weeks left  Anything can happen, right?

I would hope that you could recognise that I am not going to classify a concert in that manner.  I was referring to the focus on Fukushima as a particular event.  If, however, you are engaged in activism to try to ensure that such an incident does not occur again, then by all means.  That is practical, it is useful, and I have no difficulty supporting it wholeheartedly.

Before Earth AID was mentioned, I did not know that such preventative activism was actually your goal.  I had thought that your threads on Fukushima were therefore along the lines of, "Oh God, look how terrible it is, we're all going to die."  I do not consider that, by itself, to be remotely useful, and I will not apologise for saying so.  I feel that at this point, the focus needs to be almost entirely on solutions, rather than problems; or that is where I intend to put my own focus, anyway.

Focusing primarily or exclusively on problems does, as mentioned, generate and promote fear, which can be enormously counterproductive.

This will be an incredibly positive thing.  I felt that the most positive achievement of Occupy's camp at Zucotti Park, was primarily information exchange; creating a place for people to come together who otherwise wouldn't be able to, and conspire. ;)  The government evidently saw the value of the event for those who would oppose it, as well; the brutality of the eventual police response was a testament to that.

I am not going to argue with this, at all.  Given the nature of my own writing on this site, I would hope that, again, you would be able to recognise that.

The world is only one more “event” away from the banishment of the scourge of nuclear energy forever:

Again, I have no difficulty accepting this whatsoever.  A nuclear power station is, essentially, nothing other than an extremely high yield, stationary nuclear bomb.  I feel that that has already been amply proven at Chernobyl, among other places.

Part of the issue, however, is also going to be presenting alternatives.  The current advocates of nuclear power will likely turn around and say that if nuclear is not used, then what can we use, post peak oil?

This video, among others, demonstrates that we don't actually need to try and persuade anyone to accept aetherically based ("free") energy generation at all; there are already a number of entirely relatively non-exotic methods available that we could use.  If people were to learn about these, and begin implementing them, that would solve the problem.

"Peak oil" is a myth...  It was devised to give the illusion that oil is scarce and therefore boost the price.  In fact, it's vastly abundant - but grossly polluting in its use.  Best to get rid of it.

Well, this is the other issue as well Amy, yes.  Irrespective of whether we can continue to use oil or not, it is horrifically polluting as you say.

I would be interested in reading about oil's abundance, though; it would be very different to what I've seen on the topic in the past.  Can you point me to material on the subject?

Regarding Petrochemical Products, esp. Oil and fuel...

A vehicle in good repair and Tuned correctly; Its exhaust emits about 25 to 100 ppm (Parts / Million) hydrocarbons.

Most of the exhaust is HOT Nitrogen, some 150 ppb (Parts / Billion) Nitrogen Oxide, (not good... that's the one that makes your eyes sting) some carbon monoxide (small amount) Carbon Dioxide (1.5 to 2.0 %). But Most of a vehicles emissions, exists of Nitrogen
and Thermal ENERGY !

75 to 80% % of the fuel you buy, is Dumped in the form of ENERGY directly into your atmosphere. About 20 to 25% at the very most is used to propel your vehicle on the road! :o :'(

The Real pollution is ENERGY being dumped directly into our atmosphere.

A 150 HP engine vehicle Dumps about 8,489 btu's per minute, or up to 560 kilowatts and often much more, depending on Engine design and tuning.

If you turn on all the cooking elements in your oven at home it will produce about 1 to 2 kilowatts.

About 0.03 % of that single car !

And that's with ALL the Elements running at the same time including the Oven !   :o

Best way to get an idea of the problem take The USA's Annual Oil Consumption figure and Convert this figure to btu's or Meg. Watts.

Let alone taking into the Whole Earth's Production.    :o  ::)   >:(   :(

You will find that this figure is thousands of times more, than your annual consumption of Electricity in btu's. (Can also view this in KW or MW.)

Its the ENERGY you are dumping directly into the Atmosphere that threatens your existence.  :o

So we need to CUT BACK on the Energy we produce, if we want to keep Living !

NOT Increase our ENERGY Production !   :o  :D

That's another reason electrogravitics is the best solution.  It is negentropic.  Its signature is cold, not heat.

That is why I am so adamant about EG.  People say, solar is free, hydro (can be) free, etc.  Only EG, as far as I can tell, offers:

 • Free Energy
 • Gravity Control
 • Negentropic Function
