Bigelow, UFOs, MUFON and ‘DeLonge’ Road to AATIP
DISCUSSION THREAD HERE
I am posting this here in John Lear's Area.
For some time I have been posting about Bigelow and the UFO connection with the involvement of George Knapp, Harry Reid, Jeremy Corbell and Tom DeLonge. There have been rumors floating around about Bigelow funding MUFON and others and his interest in acquiring Saucer Parts to study and build his own UFO
The following was linked to me from ATS so it is NOT my work, to be clear. I do NOT know at this time who Mirageman is but his posting style is familiar.
Since these posts are from ATS there has never been an issue sharing them here so long as we include credits and links.
However this is news we need to be on top of.
Some Key Points
James Carrion. Director of MUFON resigns. saying that UFOlogy is it's own worst enemy and only cares to keep the UFO Circuit alive and not care about truth. (Same thing I have been saying)
In July of 2014 Carrion also spoke to radio show the Paracast.
"I think a lot of people in ufology may not like to hear, and that is - I think the bottom line is - there are folks that are in the field that call themselves ufologists, call themselves researchers, investigative journalists – whatever they want to call themselves, it doesn't really matter – but when their modus operandi is to perpetuate the mystery instead of solving it, we have a big issue. We have a big problem because the mystery will never get resolved as long as these people are out there hawking their latest theories ...if you don't have a sincere interest in truth, if you're simply interested in making the rounds of the UFO talk circuit... you're part of the problem, not part of the solution...."
<snip>
"MUFON has an obligation to the public to fulfil its mission. ...
I have already stated my decision to step down as the International Director.. I will not stand by and be managed. My time will be better spent actively uncovering the trail left by the forces of disinformation and my efforts focused on uncovering the truth. In the end that is all that is important..."
Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies (BAASS)
Bigelow starts to make a deal with MUFON and many other similar groups and funds them. including Linda Moulton Howe
The goal of BAASS was to acquire UFO super technology for the purpose of filing patents.
But by September of 1995 Saucer Smear reported that Bigelow had ceased funding the project. Funding for Linda Moulton Howe to investigate cattle mutilations however continued.
“Las Vegas businessman Robert Bigelow has terminated his financial help to the three major UFO organizations – MUFON, CUFOS, and FUFOR – due to ‘irreconcilable differences’. We are told that Bigelow wanted more control over how his money would be spent.
We also hear that one leading ufologist went so far out of control at the final meeting with Bigelow that he had to be gently escorted from the conference room… Bigelow’s flirtation with the Offbeat is not over, however, as he is still apparently funding cattle mutilation investigation by Linda Howe…”
Later in 1995 Bob Bigelow created the ‘National Institute for Discovery Science’ (NIDS) with Jacques Vallee, Hal Puthoff, Melvin Morse and Edgar Mitchell on board. The purpose of the institute was to study anomalous sightings, cattle mutilations, consciousness and crop circles.
By 1996, he had also purchased Skinwalker Ranch. A property where many paranormal happenings were reported to have taken place.
So READ THIS ENTIRE PIECE. There will be no comments in this thread. Make a discussion thread for it...

“I’ve been a researcher and student of UFOs for many, many years. Anybody that does research, if people bother to do quality research, comes away absolutely convinced. You don’t have to have personal encounters... People have been killed. People have been hurt. It’s more than observational kind of data..."
Robert Bigelow – New York Times June 7th 2010 - Link
This was heavy stuff... Now where do the origins of this quote lie?
Grab yourself a beverage of choice... Get yourself comfortable. ...This isn’t going to be like reading Twitter. This is a long thread
It seems one source of Robert Bigelow’s claims in the quote above involve a French ‘researcher’ Antoine Gigal. Physicist Jack Sarfatti described her as “accompanied by a body guard carrying a mystery briefcase allegedly containing "some kind of 'psychotronic' weapon based on alien ET technology."
According to Sarfatti's account, Gigal claimed a gun battle took place at Skinwalker Ranch with paramilitary guards involved in a shootout against aliens emerging from a portal or wormhole type of phenomenon. He said he’d heard the rumour while visiting London in 2004, in the company of Nick Cook (a British Aerospace Journalist). Sarfatti said the woman claimed to be part of a semi-secret Paris UFO group, and the woman attributed the story to Jacques Vallee. Jack Sarfatti also stated:
"Allegedly Jacques Vallee denies the story, but now Bob Bigelow seems to have gone public with it -albeit without the details."
Artistic impression of gun battle with strange phenomena on Skinwalker Ranch
Bigelow’s quote lies tucked away in the middle of a New York Times article from 2010. It was not pursued further in that article. It would be some 7 years later that another article appeared in the New York Times. If you are not familiar with it then you really need to catch up!
Glowing Auras and ‘Black Money’: The Pentagon’s Mysterious U.F.O. Program
Some believe this is the start of a path to disclosure. Others that it’s an intelligence operation or disinformation and cover for something else that is going on. My personal point of view is that more patience is required before we see how this pans out.
One thing that has now become apparent is that the United States ‘Department of Defense’, MUFON and ‘Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies’ were all intrinsically linked in an ‘Advanced Aviaton Threat Identification Program’ (AATIP) to study Unidentified Aviation Phenomena between 2007 and 2012 (maybe longer?). Five years down the road we now have a ‘To the Stars Academy’ with the former director of that program, Luis Elizondo, involved and a punk rock singer, Tom DeLonge heading it all up.
How did a self made billionaire, MUFON, and a member of Blink182 all become entwined with the machinations of the DoD?
This post will attempt to cover the historical background to these interesting recent developments.

Bob Bigelow, UFOs and the Paranormal
Bob Bigelow made his fortune in real estate - hotels, motels and private housing. His ultimate ambition however was to use the profits made to launch a space travel venture. He is an intensely private man and rarely gives interviews. His employees are ‘advised’ to not talk about their work. But he has taken a very keen interest in ‘paranormal’ matters down the years.
This was kindled in childhood. Back in 1947 his grandparents pulled over in their vehicle to avoid a strange orange orb in their path. They had stopped on the side of the road in in the middle of nowhere. The orb glowed brightly and headed straight towards them. Then at the last second before impact, it made a right-angle turn and vanished in seconds.
"It really sped up and came right into their face and filled up the entire windshield of the car...it took off at a right angle and shot off into the distance."- Source : Techtimes
In 1989 not long after Bob Lazar went public with his exciting story about working on captured alien spacecraft at Area 51, Bob Bigelow registered and set up a Nevada corporation for Lazar, the “Zeta Reticuli 2 Corp”.
Rumour has it that it was created to research ‘Element 115’, ‘Space Weapons’ and possibly biotech treatments for incurable diseases. Element 115 was the ‘magic’ substance Lazar claims to have worked with and had samples of. It was, according to Lazar, required in the propulsion system of alien craft at Area 51. The company did not last long and nothing ever materialized from this venture. I could find very little else about the purpose of the company, nor much about the two Bobs relationship afterwards.
‘TRONDANT’ and the 1992 Roper Survey
If you have no idea what “TRONDANT” means then you have probably never heard of the 1992 Roper Survey either. In 1991, Robert Bigelow, along with other interested parties proposed a survey project to estimate the number of alien abductees in America.
These were a series of 3 polls conducted by The Roper Organization, funded by Bigelow regarding “alien abduction”. Polls were conducted during the summer and early autumn of 1991. The results remain highly controversial in that it concluded 1 in every 50 (over 4 million American) people appeared to have been abducted by aliens.
The survey was sent to 100,000 psychiatrists to give to patients who claimed “unusual personal experiences” i.e., “abducted by aliens.”This was based on a sample of just under 6000 participants. However question 6 was used as a control question. Anyone who felt “TRONDANT” had a secret meaning for them was eliminated .
Roper Survey Questions
The conclusions of The Roper Organization
"The Roper Organization's research on behalf of Bigelow Holding Company produced results that were unexpected by Bigelow Holding Company; chiefly because the number of people reporting occurrences of items on the list far exceeded what was anticipated, and also because the answers cut across most demographic subgroups... It is clear that significant numbers of people do report that these unusual events occurred, independent of any factors in the survey that might increase responses."

In 1993, Bigelow funded the start up of a paranormal radio show - 'Area 2000' with Art Bell, George Knapp and Linda Moulton Howe. Bigelow bowed out fearing a lack of quality guests could be found. Art Bell carried the idea forward and that radio show became Coast to Coast AM.
In 1994, Robert Bigelow suggested a coalition of UFO organizations with MUFON, the Center for UFO Studies (CUFOS) and the Fund for UFO Research (FUFOR) participating. They all formed the UFO Research Coalition (URC). One of the combined projects included working on something called the Ambient Monitoring Project aimed at measuring environmental changes during on-going abduction experiences.
In 1997, Bigelow donated, $3.7 million to UNLV (University of Nevada at Las Vegas) to establish the Bigelow Chair of Consciousness Studies. It featured course work in metaphysics, near-death experiences and extrasensory perception.
The John Carpenter Affair
John Carpenter was a Missouri Licensed Clinical Social Worker, hypnotist and the ‘abduction research specialist’ for MUFON from 1991 to 2001..
Carpenter accepted approximately $14,000 ($100 per file) for delivering copies of the 140 case files on people suspecting themselves to be alien abductees – to Robert Bigelow and NIDS. None of these people were informed by Carpenter that he made such arrangements. Many who had already paid Carpenter for ‘treatment’.
This understandably outraged a number of the individuals involved. Carpenter confirmed to researcher Jack Brewer over at UFO Trail that sharing of files was actually spread over 3 years starting in 1995. He also stated other researchers may have shared case files as well. The whole story is a complex one and the details can be picked up at UFO Trail for those who want to explore this further.
The reason it is mentioned here is to illustrate the questionable ethics of a MUFON insider who supplied Bigelow with personal details from these suspected ‘abductees’ without contacting them about it.

2001 - Air Space Oddity
Every wondered why the classic UFO reports of old, beyond lights in the sky, seemed to be drying up in the 21st century? Well it’s probably because Bob Bigelow via NIDS and then BAASS was vacuuming many of them up? Never to be heard of again due to non-disclosure agreements.
In 2001, the FAA directed UFO sightings to Bigelow’s now defunct National Institute of Discovery Science (NIDS) with a change in their policy manuals:
“In calendar year 1999, representatives from the National Institute for Discovery Sciences (NIDS) contacted the FAA Administrator to offer their research institution as the single point of contact recognized by the FAA in regard to UFO information. On April 14, 2000, after being referred by the FAA Administrator, NIDS representatives met with ATP-200 to finalize a course of action. This document change proposal is a result of that meeting and is official FAA recognition that NIDS is the single point of contact for UFO research.
The official date for all FAA offices to receive the new manuals is July 12, 2001, but NIDS has confirmed that many FAA offices have already received the manuals."
In 2004 NIDS was placed into hibernation with a lack of worthwhile cases to investigate.
In 2012 the FAA in the US once again updated policy documents so that UFO reports were diverted to ‘Bigelow Aerospace, the National UFO Reporting Center etc. ‘Conveniently for BAASS only their contact details were provided in the policy manuals.
However NIDS did release a tiny number of conclusions drawn from their work. One was a conclusion that cattle mutilation was being caused by an unknown, well funded organisation studying the fatal effects of prion diseases. Overall, the evidence suggests that animal mutilations are a long-term, covert, prion disease sampling operation by unknown perpetrators who are aware of a substantial contamination of the beef and venison food supply. Although this paper presents evidence in favor of a motive for animal mutilations, there is still insufficient evidence to identify the perpetrators.............. The primary conclusion of this paper is that the animal mutilation epidemic of 1970-2003 was and is a monitoring operation for an infectious agent that is spreading through the human food chain..

In 2004 too, NIDS also made a statement on Black Triangle UFOs:
"The United States is currently experiencing a wave of Flying Triangle sightings that may have intensified... especially towards the latter part of the 1990s... The Flying Triangles are being openly deployed over and near population centers, including in the vicinity of major Interstate Highways...neither the agenda nor the origin of the Flying Triangles are currently known... behaviour of the vehicles "does not appear consistent with the covert deployment of an advanced DoD [U.S. Department of the Defense] aircraft."

In that same year of 1999 when NIDS first contacted the FAA, Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies (BAASS) was born.
