Quote
Apparently there are not enough chemicals already added to our drinking water, as there is now a call by “experts” to further poison our water supplies by adding Lithium. Their main reason is to decrease suicide and violent crime rates.

So it this how we wish to function as a society?  Instead of dealing with our issues at hand, let’s drug ourselves so that we don’t have to deal with personal subjects that may be perceived as hard, negative or scary. This is not a time for putting our heads in the sand and pretending or even hoping that an issue will just resolve itself. Where is the personal growth in that? Don’t you feel elated when you resolve a personal issue that no longer hangs over your head or weights on your mind? It is more important than ever to clear ourselves of past issues that we have held onto and allow more room for the new energies coming to earth to take its place within our being.

More at link.

Doesn't it ever END!?!  [sigh]

Damn, Amy, they never stop trying to control us do they?

Stock up on brita filters, and dont drink anything that flows from a tap!

I am a proponent of deep well use, but here in FLA, we have found every toxic chemical in our aquifers, even oxycontin, and Xanax!
Good grief as Thor says, good grief!

Britta might get the lithium out...  Probably.  I know it doesn't touch the fluoride.

Hey, Amy!
I have a big supply of brita filters, and when I e-mailed them about one that leaked charcoal bits they sent me a coupon for a dozen more!

That flouride is bad, and its harming our pinecones as we drink!
I found a filter for flouride, and damn! I got an extra 1300 bucks laying around...NOT!

I love how one corporate criminal poisons us, and then another rips us off for that kind of money for a device made of thirty bucks worth of materials.

Where is that Abundance paradigm when we need it?

Cheers!

So...they are taking another run at this eh?

Quote
Chlorine, fluoride, and the various other chemical poisons already added to the nation's drinking water supplies are apparently not enough for the self-appointed experts whose insatiable lust to force-medicate the world is never satisfied. A recent report in The Daily offers credence to the insane notion that adding lithium, a drug currently used to treat mental disorders, to drinking water will be beneficial in helping to reduce suicide and violent crime rates.

http://www.naturalnews.com/032576_lithium_drinking_water.html#ixzz1wguCeVm3

This scared me the first time I read that they wanted to do this.
Of course...they would never just experiment without telling us would
they?   >:(

This was one reason, along with flouride, and the leftover psycotropic
drugs in the water...I stopped drinking tap water long ago.
The differece I noticed after just a few months was amazing.

I was using a Brita filter, and Best Water too. But then
read that the smaller psyco tropic drugs still remain. ???

So, switched to a spring water thats double purified for my
drinking water...runs about 50 cents a day.

I imagine that the savings are untold in terms of health.

Some things I noticed after about 1 year off of tap water....
....much clearer thinking...much much clearer.

Also alot more energy, better sleep....less
waking up at night....and a more even mood...along with
dissapearance of "cravings".

Flouride is nasty stuff, add to that the psyco tropics and even
hormones! And they want to add lithium?

Outrageous!

Brita filters are a joke compared to things like Berkey's, Aquasanas, Santevias, etc. but better than nothing I guess...

Isn't lithium used to control crazy people?

 ::)

help prevent suicides and save lobotomies?

Well it makes great batteries too   :o

Lithium, flouride, chlorine?
Holy Crap! >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

Lets just put some ethylene glycol in there to keep it from freezing, too!

Our wannabe doctors and health "professionals" are all in it for one reason, to prolong their necessity, and protect their wallets.

Doctors are supposed to try to achieve new methods of treatment and such, but to add chemicals of any kind to the body can have dire consequences.

Havent taken any pills really ever, and I personally dont go to any doctors unless Im dying, which I havent done yet. :o

Those brita filters were in response to our water being very hard, and having a great deal of particulate, but ya know what Burntheships? Im going to try switching to spring water today, and this month, and Ill write down my results, and any difference noted, and post them here on a thread in real time.

Im trying to clear up my Pineal Gland, and through my diet it has increased in efficiency a lot(58 pounds lost, with no diet, just a change in portions)and hopefully it will give me an egde over those doctors and their cronies at the water department.
Then  will be the smartest fellow in town, in a sea of psychotropic zombies! well, probably not, but close!

MUST....STOP...Licking batteries! :o

Good advice BTS, thanks!

well my chemistry is not that great anymore..so sorry if this is a dumb question for you chemistry guys
but will boiling the water remove it?

little story

my mother who is 90 and smart as a tack has boiled her water for about 35 years..
then she refrigerates it in glass only
it's the only way she will used tap water for anything
i feel that this habit of hers is what has kept her healthy and aware

so my question does boiling the water remove any of the additions to it?

If you boil the water and condense the steam you will have nice clean water... it's called distillation.

HOWEVER you need to do it at the right temperature because other liquids will also evaporate and mix in with the steam. That is why they use this method to make gasoline products and alcohol. If your using tap water to start, most contaminates are already removed. Distallation will remove all those hard chemicals

Quote
In this attempt to imitate nature, water is evaporated from one container into another container. In nature this occurs costantly, primarily from the earth (seas, lakes, rivers, etc...) to the sky. In distillation, this process usually is accelerated by heat. There are many types of distillation units which the consumer can buy, from simple 2 gallon a day units to whole house applications. The cost is typically quite a bit more than the other filtration devices, but the quaility of water is also better and more certain.

Distillation is one of mankind's earliest forms of water treatment, and it is still a popular treatment solution throughout the world today. In ancient times, the Greeks used this process on their ships to convert sea water into drinking water. In far-eastern cultures, water was distilled for use in "Ranbiki" tea ceremonies. Today, distilled water is still used to convert sea water to drinking water on ships and in arid parts of the world, and to treat water in other areas that is fouled by natural and unnatural contaminants. Distillation is perhaps the one water treatment technology that most completely reduces the widest range of drinking water contaminants.

Not only is distillation one of the most effective forms of treatment, but it is also one of the easiest to understand: untreated water is converted into water vapor, which is then condensed back into liquid form. Most of the contaminants are left behind in the boiling chamber, with the condensed water being virtually contaminant-free. Anyone who has accidentally let a pot of water boil completely out on the stove is familiar with this process, and familiar with the crust of contaminants typically left behind after the water is gone.

In nature, this basic process is responsible for the hydrologic cycle. The sun causes water to evaporate from surface sources such as lakes, oceans, and streams. The water vapor eventually comes in contact with cooler air, where it re-condenses to form dew or rain. This process can be imitated artificially, and more rapidly than in nature, using alternative sources of heating and cooling.

http://www.goodwaterco.com/watereducation/Distillation.htm

Just boiling the water itself will remove MOST live pathogens and bacteria, but it will not remove chemicals. In fact it will concentrate them.  If you have 1 gallon of water and you boil it so there is only half a gallon left (the rest is gone in steam) you will have DOUBLED the hard chemicals in that water

As the article states.. if you boil it off completely you will see the sediments left in the pot

Yep I could not say enough good words about berkey in general  :D

Plus the whole gravity feed aspect of berkey is nice as it keeps you in touch with water :;

get one of these bad boys

water from the air humidity  (they even have one that runs on solar panels (it's a kit, the water from air machine and a solar panel. but it's alot more expensive)
