Ok, I have stolen a little noise.  ::)
Stole also a little Antarctica. ::)

hehe 8)

Added to much reverb in it;) and its to short to make it a good HOAX.

oh well. Just to explain its easy to make "something" with it. If I got a good original file of the sound I could make different ones with sound on background or foreground. Deep or high etc etc.

ps: The vid is unlisted.

Not saying all sounds are made up btw.

That sound should have had people out of bed and onto the streets..calling BS on this one for now  :-\

Thats actually very similar to what I heard but there was a longer duration between the pulses and it was "cleaner". Because it was late in the AM and I actually went outside, I can attest to the fact that no one else came outside. I could also tell the sound came from North West of my position. I couldn't make out any reasonable guess of altitude so whether the sound was from above or not couldn't really say.

The sound also lasted only about 20 minutes or so which is probably why no one got out of bed.

I own some bone mics for scuba diving, so I'm familiar with the concepts of sounds being transmitted directly through bone, but this was external and quite LOUD, though I could tell it was still a long ways off.

Probably some machinery malfunction on a ship or plant, but I've never heard anything like that or that loud in the 15 years I've been around here. It was pretty spooky lol - Thought maybe it was the "mother ship" here to pick me up - but then again I don't know whos mothership it would be!  :o ;D Course if they weren't planning on eating, torturing, disecting or otherwise harming me - I'd have gone just for the adventure! Oh well, stuck on Earth for the duration I guess.

hahahahahahahahah
yep..no taste..that's why i'm here....

oh the ambiquity of it..
did she mean
she was here because she had no taste
or
here to learn taste

sound is one of those relative things that happens all the time
i would never say someone didn't hear something
but i would like to track down the cause of what they heard
sometimes it isn't possible

years ago i was always outside late because of taking care of horses
and after midnight one nice spring night ..hubby and i heard
a sound that to this day we can not ID
it was extremely loud and the hair on your body did stand up
it was a growl/yell/scream/snarl all in one..very loud
we were ready to take off over the hill to track it when another
occured about a half mile away to the north
then on to the south and on it went for a good 7 or 8 calls
from different  locals and if only two whatevers..moving very fast
we jokingly said it was bigfoot passing thur
and we have never heard it again.....
so when some one says they heard it..i will accord them the courtesy of belief

however you tubes test my patience with their content...sorry

...

well here's some main stream jumping in

http://blog.trutv.com/conspiracy/2012/01/mystery-sounds-haunting-the-paranormal-community.html

Strange sounds, possibly made by alien life forms or UFOs, are popping up in increasing numbers worldwide.

From Bucharest, Romania to Arvada, Colorado, these booming noises have been heard, taped and uploaded to YourTube for your viewing pleasure. One of the most popular videos is from Conklin, Alberta, Canada where loggers are shown staring up at a blue sky, while a whining metallic sound envelopes them.

Other videos of eerily similar sounds were recorded in Manitoba, Canada and Kota Samarahan, Malaysia. Is it aliens making contact, again?

Otherss (joke) that it's the groaning of the gates of hell in anticipation for the end of the world (if the Mayans are to be believed). Another YouTube commenter joked that the sounds were merely "Chuck Norris snoring." Whatever they are, these sounds have whipped the internet into a tizzy. There's now a whole website http://strangesoundsinthesky.com/
dedicated to tracking these strange reverberations in the sky.

Several commenters on YouTube are chalking up the sounds to HAARP, or the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program. Funded by the U.S. Navy, Air Force and the University of Alaska, HAARP is a common fall guy for mysterious and unexplained events. But so far, this seems unlikely. Cooler heads are reasoning that this is all just a viral marketing scheme by the makers of the video game Half-Life 3... or some company miffed that their sales could get a whole boost from this whole "viral video craze."

Now all we need is for someone to connect the Illuminati to this story. What do you think is causing these mysterious sounds?

I think that a lot of these cases are hoaxes.  The real ones do not have a single cause so there is no single answer to this question.

I have to say its dang confusing!

Keep reading people, and in our case Capt Dave say that the sounds are like what they heard.

But some of the videos are not quite right.  :-\

Strange sounds are out there.  :o

In regards to war of the worlds.  I went to see that movie hoping it wasn't going to be butchered which it was!  One thing the sound in the cinema for that was Awesome :D

I have to say its dang confusing!

That is the problem with youtubers  They get their jollies by making fakes. You get an original and then 100 forgeries...

For example this one... he adds the open/closed window effect but it is the same sound as the original one from Kiev

Strange noises in Belgium - 19 Jan 2012

But this one is new... from Ireland and the dogs are upset, ans there are other witnesses standing on the street listening. Like the Kiev one, it lasted a long time, so its not just a YT short clip

Strange Sound 2012 co.Armagh N.ireland UK

I wrote the guy in Ireland to check if there are any reports in the local news, like there were in the Suffolk Hum case where the BBC and Telegraph both interviewed people who heard it.

I think this is what we need to verify the real sounds... local media coverage

Strange noises reported around North Battleford

With local Saskatoon news report:

http://saskatoon.ctv.ca/servlet/an/local/CTVNews/20120124/sas-noisesnorth-120124/20120124/?hub=Saskatoon

Quote
Ian Hamilton, North Battleford's mayor, says he can't explain it. "What I experienced was a scraping sound, like a snowplow."

Mike Halstead, a North Battleford resident, was lying in bed when his phone rang. Calls and text messages came in from his friends, each reporting strange noises. "That's when the goose bumps got me and I thought ‘that's awfully strange'."

University of Saskatchewan professor Jean-Pierre St. Maurice says there is a natural explanation. "Somehow they are picking up noise from an electrical antenna that is there. That is electromagnetic noise. "

So is that a viable explanation??
