More than 77,000 without power in Georgia after ice storm - Washington Times

Greetings:

OPERATIONS TREE DISASTER RELIEF TEAM has been on the road (and in the news - interviewed by Ch. 11 TV station) in the northern part of Georgia the past two days performing complimentary assistance to the under skilled and overwhelmed locals, which was much appreciated.

Here are a few pics of ice storm 'beauty':

Went through many such pretty ice storms in Toronto  I was thankfull that I had installed a block heater in my car because I used to ski in Ottawa and you needed a heater there to strat your car

That saved chipping 1 inch thick ice off the car :P

Pretty pictures indeed  I assume the Rescue team is making some bucks?

I mean we have been seeing pictures like THIS from out east while we are in the high 80's already (and so is Alaska :P )

Greetings:

All free, as there is still no power and most homeowners are in shelters…no locals providing services...

We were clearing roads and driveways for FD access.

Filed Appeal to Georgia Supreme Court because Superior Court Judge Russell Smith refused to consider our Opposition to Summary Judgement.    :o

Thank you for asking.

It is not 80 degrees in Alaska.  I responded to your post in the other thread where you mentioned that.

80 degrees in Alaska is one of those things you read that jumps out at you right away. Check ANY weather service and you'll see the temps are in the 30's and and low 40's....a bit warm but nowhere near 80!

And you fuss about the BS that gets curculated on facebook.  You're better than this Z.

So here we are, out on another beautiful spring day on Lake Seed
(Rabun County, Georgia) testing a new pump on the fireboat,
when the baby-blue sky took on a totally new look as dusk neared.   :P

Well, that didn't 'enlarge' as he might wish …  :o    ;)    :D   … try these.

We tried to wash them dang things out of the sky…

Greetings:

Another tough one.

BooBoo Bear, our adopted Rottweiler of some 14 years (making him 16+), has gone to doggie heaven, on my birthday, 18 May 2015, yesterday at 11:11 am EST.

He was diagnosed with bone cancer after his right front leg started swelling up a couple of months ago and one vet suggested to put him down, as there was no cure.

That did not sit well, so my friend, Tree Carver and I set out on a course of alternative therapy based on Essiac tea, made into a poultice soaked with vodka and softening his food with Essiac tea.

It worked - somewhat - as the swelling went down, but he quit eating and became quite weak a couple of days ago and signaled that it was time.    :'(

Yesterday morning, we had him resting in the shade, when he barked very strangely and beckoned me to him.

I picked up his head and cradled him in my lap and he looked up at me for about a minute, licked my hand and closed his eyes for the last time . . .  :-*

Until We Meet In Heaven
All good things
Must come to an end,
And today I said goodbye
To my very best friend.

The house will seem so still,
Now that he's gone.
There'll be no one to wake me up
To go outside at dawn.

His bowls will sit there empty,
But I'll leave them in their place.
No more will water drip down
from his thirsty, furry face.

There'll be no one to bark
When the mail person comes by.
It's going to be one of those moments
When I'm sure I'll want to cry.

But I know the day will come,
When my tears will finally fade,
And I'll focus on the good times,
and all the fetch we played.

So until the day that we
Can be together once again,
I'll keep your memory alive
'Til we meet in Heaven, my friend.

R.I.P BooBoo Bear . . . we love you.

We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own live within a fragile circle...even though 15 years seems like a very long time.

Now, as I write this, on another rainy day in North Georgia, I can still feel Bear's presense...a warm glow comes through the tears, slowly creeping down through my fingertips to the surface of the now-wet keyboard.

Weird, just changed the name from Little Bit to Bear   :(

Alaska sets new record for earliest day with temperatures in the 90s

May 28, 2015
It’s been a warm, dry spring for much of interior Alaska. On the afternoon of May 23, a new statewide record was set for the earliest day in the year with a temperature in the 90s. A daytime high of 91°F was noted by a cooperative observer in Eagle, where temperatures have been recorded (with some breaks) since the 1890s.

http://www.climate.gov/news-features/event-tracker/alaska-sets-new-record-earliest-day-temperatures-90s

This is weird  Total flip  and here we are in Nevada in the middle  Its been cool all May No AC needed and its still below 90 during the day

But look at this  and the rains are flooding Texas and Oklahoma bringing out snakes and even tube worms from the backed up sewers in huge masses
