The Empire Strikes Back!
« on: October 11, 2014, 07:08:44 pm »
No.. Really! The movie. The whole, scene for scene, full length thing! It's even free! Just how and why it's free is a fascinating story.

Quote
The Empire Strikes Back Uncut is the result of 1,500 submissions for a faithful remake of the second Star Wars film released, with many different animation and film techniques employed.

Mark Franklin, Lucasfilm senior events and fan relations lead, described the end result as “one of the best examples of fan creativity” she had seen.

Even if you don’t have a spare two hours it’s fun to jump around the video - our favourite bit arrives at 1:51:36, when a gingerbread-esque Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker face off.

Now some might call it having far too much free time. There might be some truth to that too... lol It can result in some pretty cool stuff though, and I flipped through a lot of it. It is a .....creative... remake of the original, but clearly recognizable and entirely sincere for effort throughout.

I don't expect anyone would watch the whole thing here, but a quick flip through ought to be fun for many. Also, it's available up to 1080p for quality. No one can argue the effort put into it. That's for sure!  ;)

While people are devoting their time and effort towards such creativity, here's something else that is currently happening.

http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2014/sep/29/earth-lost-50-wildlife-in-40-years-wwf

Earth has lost half of its wildlife in the past 40 years, says WWF.

I can step out of my bedroom here in the morning, and immediately be confronted with the sight of chemtrails; and they are spraying them all over various other states in Australia now, as well.  The planet is being decimated, we are moving towards extinction, and what most people are spending their time on, is watching cat videos and making fan remakes of various forms of old science fiction.

Food for thought.

I believe a society without culture is a people without a future.

There is a great deal to be aware of and concerned with, but to focus exclusively on that isn't healthy either, IMO. After all, if we don't enjoy life in those small ways occasionally, we risk losing sight of what makes it worth living and not merely existing in.

I think it's better to spend their time doing that than doing some of the much worse things they could have been doing. At least they were really doing something instead of just talking about it. :)

Why did you post this in the gaming area and in a thread about a movie?

While people are devoting their time and effort towards such creativity, here's something else that is currently happening.

HALF?  I call BULLSH!T on that!

And So what? Ever hear of EVOLUTION?  Do you suppose EVOLUTION simply STOPPED?

No you see what you ASSUME are chemtrails  You actually have no idea what they really are, Not all contrails are chemtrails

and they are spraying them all over various other states in Australia now, as well.

Another ASSUMPTION based on conspiracy thinking

The planet is being decimated, we are moving towards extinction,

No we are not.

So what SHOULD they be doing instead? Give up on life and spout DOOM PORN all day and become miserable useless eaters?

Maybe YOU need to get out and do something fun and creative... because frankly your gloom and doom is getting old

Have a FERRET
