EXACTLY THAT. yes they put radioactive particles in the tombs (found in the geology of the area)

Fukushima Radiation Found in Alaska...& We Forge Ahead

From:

Hello everyone...

We have tentative news that the critical take-down of fuel rods at Fukushima #4 may be delayed two weeks or more.

This is critical news.

So are the horrifying reports that radiation from Fukushima has reached the coast of Alaska.  (www.nukefree.org).

Please take a look at my current blog at www.nukefree.org asking that nuclear advocates first go to Fukushima.

On Thursday, November 7, at 1pm, we'll turn in the first round of signatures to Ban Ki-Moon at the UN.

We have exceeded 112,000 people signing in.  It's a tremendous accomplishment.

We must keep going.

We will continue to grow this petition and turn in more and more signatures as the crisis deepens.

We are joined by 40,000 signers at www.rootsaction.org, along with thousands more from the Green Shadow Cabinet, which has also brought in many organizational signers.

We continue to welcome many different views on how to deal with Fukushima.

But above all, we cannot stop.  Tepco has amply shown their incompetence at Fukushima.  Japan, with a new state secrets act, has neither the resources nor the openness to deal with this crisis.

So we continue to call for a global team of scientists and engineers, backed by the many nations of the world, to take control at Fukushima.

There is more to come. We have made the world far more aware of this terrifying crisis. But our lives are on the line, and we have a long way to go.

Thanks, everyone.

For a nuke-free future....the only one there is.

Just to let you know, tonight I had dinner with 5 prominent leaders of our city and I got the opportunity to ask them about Fukushima.

4 out of the 5 knew about the disaster, 3 knew it was still going on and none of them knew what they should do about it. I stopped there and let them think and I changed the conversation to release the questioning. Being grilled is not a good thing to make new friends. But I got what I wanted to know.

People in the world have no idea what is really going on. Like most problems, education is a factor and life getting in the way is the other.

First Round Of Signatures Delivered !!! & Pandora's Box Score

From: "Harvey Wasserman, The World Community Must Take Charge at Fukushima Campaign" <noreply@list.moveon.org>

To: thorfourwinds@thelivingmoon.com

Received: 11-09-2013 11:50 PM

Hello all you wonderful Fukushima petition signers.

Thanks to you, we have successfully delivered the first round of more than 150,000 individual and group signatures asking for a global takeover at Fukushima.

For photos and more, see:

http://www.popularresistance.org/take-action-for-international-assistance-with-the-crises-at-fukushima/

As the crisis there deepens, we must build on this, with more & more concerned citizens signing these petitions and creating an ever greater grassroots safe energy movement.

On Thursday, November 7, the rain held off at the United Nations just long enough for us to celebrate this amazing initial response and to confirm our further commitment to organizing toward what needs to be done to solve this terrible crisis.

The petitions were taken straight into the UN and up to Ban Ki-Moon’s office...and then the skies opened!

This happened right in synch with the scheduled beginning of the operation to take fuel rods down from the damaged pool at Fukushima Unit Four.  Then “technical difficulties” forced Tokyo Electric Power to delay the operation for “additional testing.”

So now, in the interim, the nations of the world will have some time to evaluate our request for a global takeover of this life-and-death process.

Meanwhile we continue with this and many other actions, petitions, and organizing....whatever we can do to build global awareness and help muster the scientific, engineering and financial resources to deal with this horrific nuclear nightmare.

On Monday, November 11, some of us will do our first monthly “Eleventh Day Fast for Fukushima.”   To commemorate the 3/11/11 beginning of the disaster, some of us we will not eat from dawn to dusk in solidarity with Fukushima’s victims, and to help focus our attention on doing whatever we can do to help get the site under control.

We will do this on the 11th of every month from now on, until the crisis is over...which we expect no time soon.  Please join us in this or whatever other action makes sense to you.

As a postscript, we note that the absurd pro-nuclear propaganda piece “Pandora’s Promise” aired on CNN as we gathered.  I’ll send a link to a review in a short while.

But within hours of the showing of this unbalanced, profoundly inaccurate radioactive screed, there came a powerful response from where it really counts---in the actual head-count of atomic construction.  Just after CNN sold itself to all the pro-nuke hype, the Dallas-based Luminant power company announced it was canceling work on two giant new reactors proposed for nearby Comanche Peak.

This latest cancellation brings Pandora’s Box Score for 2013 to 5 announced shut-downs of operating reactors, 9 cancelled proposed new reactors and 6 scratched proposed uprates.

Now if only Pandora will reverse her curse at Fukushima.....

Thank you all again so much.

As we work together to mitigate the horrors at Fukushima over the coming months and years, we will do all we can to help our planet heal from the deepening plague of the errant atom.....

And then we”ll see you in Solartopia!!!

Hello Everyone!

FAST FOR FUKUSHIMA:
Today, Monday, November 11, many of us will begin our first "Eleventh Day Fast for Fukushima".

Along with so many others, I won't be eating from dawn to dusk.  I will do liquids.  But the fast will be meant to honor the victims of this horrible disaster, and to focus our efforts on finding ways to survive it.

The fast comes exactly 32 months after the disaster began.  Many of us will fast again each 11th day of the month until Fukushima ceases to threaten the health of the planet, which will almost certainly take a long long time.  Hopefully the fasts will be good for the planet's health as well as our own.

NEW PETITION:
Many of you wrote noting I omitted the link for the new petition from Arnie Gundersen, asking Tepco be removed from Fukushima.

Here it is:
http://www.nukefree.org/new-fuku-petition-remove-tepco-you-remove-fuel

We already have 715 signers, and hope for many many more.
Please note that we continue to gather signatures for our main petition. We have turned an initial 114,000-plus from this petition and 40,000 more from www.rootsaction.org plus many more individual and organizational signatures from the Green Shadow Cabinet.

But we cannot and will not stop until a global team of scientists and engineers takes over at Fukushima with the full faith and credit of the world behind them. Only then might we have a chance to survive on this planet.

So please keep sending this petition around, gathering signatures and talking to  all who'll listen about what we must do to save our planet and ourselves from the horrific mistake that is atomic energy.

TODAY'S PIECE: PANDORA'S ATOMIC BOX SCORE:
Thanks to Stefanie Spear and www.Ecowatch.com for publishing this:

The website of the photographer who did the CNN/Fukushima graphic is www.abbiesophia.com

WE HAVE MADE A DIFFERENCE

Today's NYTimes carried a big story on the fuel rod bring-down at Unit Four.  Serious Fukushima coverage is finally surfacing at other corporate media throughout the world, most  notably Reuters.

Little or none of this would be happening without our movement's tireless efforts to wake up the world about this devastating disaster.

So let's keep up!
We are making a huge difference!!
Together, we just might save this planet.
See you in Solartopia,
Harvey W

As former Ambassador Mitsuhei Murata has put it:
full-scale releases from Fukushima
“would destroy the world environment and our civilization.

This is not rocket science,
nor does it connect to the pugilistic debate over nuclear power plants."

"This is an issue of human survival.”

Pandora’s Atomic Box Score

Harvey Wasserman
November 10, 2013 11:04 am

The first prophetic sign to follow CNN’s irrelevant Pandora’s Promise is this: the Dallas-based Luminant Power Company has cancelled two mammoth reactors.

Pandora’s box score for atomic America 2013 is five announced early reactor closures, nine project cancellations and six ditched updates. Today, 100 U.S. reactors operate where 1,000 were once promised. New orders are zilch.

Even more critical: For decades the nuclear industry said zero commercial reactors could explode. When Chernobyl blew, they blamed it on the Soviet design. Now, three General Electric reactors have exploded at Fukushima. Unfortunately, as they age and deteriorate, there may be more to come.

Here are some more numbers to tally. More than 1,300 fuel rods sit in a damaged fuel pool 100 feet in the air at Fukushima 4. They contain radioactive cesium equivalent to 14,000 times what was released at the bombing of Hiroshima.

There are some 6,000 rods in a common fuel pool nearby. There are some 11,000 rods scattered around the site. The three melted cores from units One, Two and Three are missing. There are roughly 1,000 tanks holding billions of gallons of hot radioactive water that are leaking and will collapse in the next big earthquake.

All 50 allegedly operable reactors in Japan remain shut. Germany is on its way to total green power.

Pandora’s Promise was largely bankrolled by Microsoft billionaire Paul Allen, whose buddy Bill Gates has bet big on the mythic “new generation” reactors.

As it aired on CNN, a grassroots coalition presented more than 150,000 signatures to the United Nations, requesting a global takeover at the accursed Fukushima, where three reactors cores are missing and radiation still pours into the ocean.

Meanwhile Tokyo Electric Power postponed its potentially apocalyptic bring-down of the radioactive fuel rods at Unit Four.

“More tests” were needed, they said. This week the U.S. Department of Energy will meet on how to aid an untried engineering exercise whose failure doom the planet. But if it can be done at all, it will take the entire global community to bring this beast under control.

CNN dumped a ton of hype on Pandora’s Promise, and made no real attempt to hide its own pro-nuke bias. Lead-up debates were heavily weighted toward the industry, whose push for a new generation of reactors will ultimately go nowhere.

The scenario is obvious: Gates and his fellow mega-rich will pour into various theoretical atomic technologies a few hundred million dollars. They’ll write it all off their taxes. They’ll demand immunity for any accidents. It’ll all run billions over budget and years behind schedule.

Then they’ll leave yet another radioactive mess for the rest of us to clean up.
Atomic energy makes global warming worse. Its truest promise is for ever more meltdowns—in health, the ecology and economy.

This movie maker needs to revisit Fukushima and report on those fuel rods flying in the sky, the river of radiation pouring into the oceans and the lethal long-lived poisons spewing into the air we breathe.

As Hesiod says, when the original Pandora opened her forbidden box, “the Earth and sea were full of evils.”

But hope did remain, now in the form of the green power revolution. The world of finance is on our side. So is the insurance industry. And, basic sanity.

On the 11th of every month, in commemoration of Fukushima, many of us will fast in solidarity with the victims in hope of a survivable outcome. You can help by signing our petitions. With our grassroots organizing and escalated resistance, a Solartopian world can be won.

Pandora’s clear promise—call it a warning—is that our survival depends on it.

The way I interpret the video that thor put up there is that there are so many things people are involved in in life and so much going on in the world that people are distracted and yet a possible extinction scenario is facing us but "we feel fine."  We are just here living life.  Even though the song repeats itself, it gets the point across most succinctly.
