Robo, in hindsight, the only thing that really ground my gears about Discovery, was the fact that they were calling it Star Trek. I happily watched Andromeda for three seasons, and that was the most tacky, cheesy, low budget, musclehead space drek you ever saw in your life, although it was also fun and had an awesome electric guitar sound track. Bill and Ted would have strongly approved.
Bad science fiction is perfectly fine. Even bad Star Trek isn't something I have problems with; there's plenty of it.
What I can not accept, however, is something which is not just bad, but also claims to be part of something which it very clearly is not, simply because the people producing it want to make money. The entire reason why Discovery has nothing in common with real Trek, is because they don't actually own the Trek TV series IP!
