And the underground sea he saw?
Huge Underground "Ocean" Discovered Towards Earth's CoreFour hundred miles beneath North America,
Water is what gives our planet its beautiful blue color and is critical for the existence of life as we know it. Our entire planet is nicknamed after it - the "blue planet", or "pale blue dot". A new study led by geophysicist Steve Jacobsen of Northwestern University and seismologist Brandon Schmandt from the University of New Mexico has yielded evidence that vast oceans worth of water are tied up within Earth’s mantle. The results are published in Science.

A giant blob of water the size of the Arctic Ocean has been discovered hundreds of miles beneath eastern Asia, scientists report.
Researchers found the underground "ocean" while scanning seismic waves as they passed through Earth's interior.

While they are claiming that no submarine will visit those it IS interesting that they mentioned them
But nobody will be exploring this sea by submarine. The water is locked in moisture-containing rocks 400 to 800 miles (700 to 1,400 kilometers) beneath the surface.
But is that true? Since they haven't actually LOOKED yet and scientists have been mistaken more than once, maybe they are indeed actual oceans, with the water having washed out a cavern. We see these caverns with lake in many countries now
Lost SeaIt's really very breath taking to actually take a glass bottom boat out on one... They have lights in the crystal clear water and the effect is erie to say the least.
Divers have gone down but so far no one has reached the bottom
