trojan horse cookie?
« on: March 13, 2013, 08:03:46 am »
To all the computer geniuses out there.
could a cookie be used as a trojan horse to infect other websites.
say i went to a piece of crap conspiracy site and they create a virus that attacks a quality conspiracy website by placing a cookie that does bad things to a targeted good web site.
Just kinda got me thinking.some abc type sights could afford such a thing i would think.like a antiposting cookie like some sites have.then that cookie has a program that recognizes other certain websites by their programming not their name.that way they cant be sued later.because we know every site has its own unique layout.

Sorry if this freaks soke folks out but i woke up paranoid this morning and then had a hard time posting on here this morning.
So it got me thinkin.

Could we be looking at cyber war between competing websites in the future.
Say amazon and ebay.hulu and netflix and youtube.
Could a cold war between sites become the norm?
Could these things polarize humans in the future and keep us constantly at war in the future?
Could it be the death of the net in the future?

A trojan needs a way to be triggered (executed).  Cookies aren't the best option for that...

Cookies are text that is read by the site code.

If you know how a site encodes their cookies you can make a fake cookie to send them the wrong (or right) information, but that's the only thing you can do.

Any action (like activating some payload) done must be done by the site, not the cookie itself.

Not likely a cookie as it would be a site with poor security that may have a redirect or embedded trojan right in the coding. Unsecured sites can be easily manipulated by hackers to do this.

thankyou guys for the wisdom.
my form of hacking is more simple .hitch hike to enemy.destroy phone lines.burn down server building.hunt down owners children and make them cry.cut guy wires of cellphone towers.cut fiber optics of trunk lines and cell tower lines.
or fake it buy posting crap on facebook of how ive hacked their system and how im going to crash it.and how they cant stop me.then there techs spend days trying to track the invisible ghost.this causes panic at the networks and then they are their own worst enemy.ive used the last one on broadcasters before.its fun to watch them watching facebook while broadcasting live.face goes pale and smily face turns upside down.lie on tv news and paybacks a bitch.got to keep the propaganda machine in check sometimes.i had access to ats servers onetime last year.my friend was in town.but i left it alone because for all their faults they are a good intel source.i just dont give them my intel.take all you can and give nothin back.

It was more likely the Chinese hacking the shit out of the Internet for the last 3 weeks straight.
