AREA S4 ANOMALY

Here is the photo of the DEM (Digital Elevation Module) covering the Papoose Lake Area.

The government agency responsible for DEMs issued this is 1985 or so.

Groom Lake was closed to ALL PERSONNEL sometime during 1973 and 1975 for 18 months during which time there were no personnel going in or out and no security records of any kind were kept. Obviously someone was there doing something very secret and I suspect it was building S-4.

The government was sure that nothing around the Groom Lake and Papoose area showed nothing in the way of soil disturbance or construction from any map, chart or satellite image. But they forgot one thing: a DEM.

DEMs are made by airplanes recording radar altitudes.

So this DEM show a giant hole with an object at the bottom. I estimate the hole to be around 100 feet deep and about 10 to 200 feet on the sides.

The object that in the bottom of the hole was obviously something they wanted to bury forever and ever. That is if they did not build a tunnel from S-4 to the hole which is about 3 miles to the south.

I drew some yellow lines which represent the S-4 hangar facility in the top left.

Of course this is just a hole and may have been built into a underground hangar with elevators to the top. Nobody I know that has been to S-4 has ever mentioned a hangar to the south but all agree that each only saw a very small portion of the S-4 facility.

The photos are indistinct because they were taken from the screen of my old computer which has a pace for 3.5 floppy drive. I have an external floppy drive coming next week and I will post photos much clearer.

The top photo is a close up of the hole and the bottom shows the hole in relation to the S-4 hangars at the top left.

Any comments or suggestions would be helpful in to trying to figure out what this hole is.

All the best

John

The only comment I add John is from someone who has seen a Black Triangle, Had someone here comment on it as being routine flight's.. That program had to start somewhere I guess!

I have no idea what the hole is.  I suggest that the "object" at the bottom is actually water.  The hole goes down to the level of the water table.  It is white like the dry lake which I think indicates the object is also flat/horizontal like the dry lake and is therefore probably water.

Assuming the DEM has not been doctored, this certainly gives credence to the notion that something has been going on at Papoose lake.  If there is no facility at S4 then why would they excavate a gigantic deep hope there?

What's the resolution (horizontal and vertical) of that DEM? Depending on that the hole may be just a data flaw.

As for the object at the bottom, it looks only like a texture applied to the DEM, without any height itself.

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean.

DEMs are just height data, with no other information. Images like the ones on this thread are created by applying an image over the 3D representation of the height data, like we see on Google Earth. For example, I can guarantee you that the 25 de Abril bridge doesn't look like this. :)

What they do is to "wrap" the image over the 3D model, so, to me, it looks like the bottom of the "hole" is just that part of the image they used to "wrap" that 3D model.

PS: usually, they use an image from the area represented in the 3D model, but any image can be used.

I understand that.  I assumed that the textures in the image were in some way related to how the altitude varies (so where there is little variation it is white, more variation is represented as brown).  Now I look again, I can see that is pretty unlikely as there would be other white areas if that were the case.  You're right, the colours/textures don't look to be generated that way and are added.

There is no white object.

The straight lines of the 'hole' look like this is an artifact of the mapping soft that has resulted from the data base being edited.  There is probably no 'hole' in the ground but rather a hole in the data base where something of interest was taken out to prevent observation by the public.

On the other hand, it could have been an experiment with a gravity propulsion system that went bad wrong and crushed a football field size area of the earth into power. (There may be good reasons to prevent the public from coming up to S-4 for casual observation).
Have you noticed since everyone has a cell phone these days no one talks about seeing UFOs like they used to?

I am of the mind that if inquires were made to the right people in the correct manner it might be possible to find archived sat photos of the exact area during the specified time period from our neighbors across the big blue pond...

The first really good shot ever made available of Area 51 was from a Soviet satellite way back in the 70's... That has the appearance of being a rather large hole  :P

The problem with using a drone is A.) It is illegal and restricted air space and B.) The Dem record being discussed is from a very long time ago...
