Scientists Discover How to Turn Light into Matter
« on: May 19, 2014, 05:05:18 am »
Light into matter:

Source:
Imperial College London
Summary:
Physicists have discovered how to create matter from light -- a feat thought impossible when the idea was first theorized 80 years ago. In just one day over several cups of coffee in a tiny office, three physicists worked out a relatively simple way to physically prove a theory first devised by scientists Breit and Wheeler in 1934. Breit and Wheeler suggested that it should be possible to turn light into matter by smashing together only two particles of light (photons), to create an electron and a positron -- the simplest method of turning light into matter ever predicted. The calculation was found to be theoretically sound, but Breit and Wheeler said that they never expected anybody to physically demonstrate their prediction.

Tesla:
Can man control this grandest, most awe-inspiring of all processes in nature? Can he harness her inexhaustible energies to perform all their functions at his bidding? More still - cause them to operate simply by the force of his will?

If he could do this, he would have powers almost unlimited and supernatural. At his command, with but a slight effort on his part, old worlds would disappear and new ones of his planning would spring into being. He could fix, solidify and preserve the ethereal shapes of his imagining, the fleeting visions of his dreams. He could express all the creations of his mind on any scale, in forms concrete and imperishable. He could alter the size of this planet, control its seasons, guide it along any path he might choose through the depths of the Universe. He could cause planets to collide and produce his suns and stars, his heat and light. He could originate and develop life in all its infinite forms.

To create and to annihilate material substance, cause it to aggregate in forms according to his desire, would be the supreme manifestation of the power of Man's mind, his most complete triumph over the physical world, his crowning achievement, which would place him beside his Creator, make him fulfill his Ultimate Destiny.

I have to wonder if it's more to do with Hoomans figuring out that matter is nothing :D

Hmmm, or...that light is something....

Walter Russell is toasting humanity right now, as they have nearly reached the level of what he considered so important in his book The Secret of Light...whereas all matter is manifested through transmutations of the one base substance, Light.

Not that I am a proponent of Russell's entire body of work, but it does hold serious implications in the reconnecting of spirituality and science....could these little bonded pairs be the renewal of the age of light and the next Yuga?

Excellent news indeed, Cosmo!

Scientists discover how to turn light into matter after 80-year quest

Quote
Imperial College London physicists have discovered how to create matter from light - a feat thought impossible when the idea was first theorised 80 years ago.

In just one day over several cups of coffee in a tiny office in Imperial's Blackett Physics Laboratory, three physicists worked out a relatively simple way to physically prove a theory first devised by scientists Breit and Wheeler in 1934.

Breit and Wheeler suggested that it should be possible to turn light into matter by smashing together only two particles of light (photons), to create an electron and a positron – the simplest method of turning light into matter ever predicted. The calculation was found to be theoretically sound but Breit and Wheeler said that they never expected anybody to physically demonstrate their prediction. It has never been observed in the laboratory and past experiments to test it have required the addition of massive high-energy particles.

I'm almost scared to think what sort of Pandora's box they have opened up with this tech.

No apologies necessary E.  A lot of information flies through this place and it can go unnoticed at times.  It can be hard to keep up.

It is cool that you noticed that discovery too.  Making matter from light...next they'll be saying anti gravity is possible!  lol  It does make holo decks more plausible!

A large bag of GOLD from me to you COSMO ....   :)

Soon it will be found that BLACK is One Component of 2, that produces Light.

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe touched on this fact, but was ridiculed at the time.
