I'm trying to figure out why Homo sapiens thinks it can control the climate of an entire planet.
Despite what conspiracy nuts think, we are no where near that level yet :P

I'm pretty sure we're riding the climate rocket. Nothing we do is going to stop it.

THIS is the reality of climate change

My suggestion? MOVE SOUTH :P

So when they say last year was the hottest on record, remember "records" are only going back 150 years or so.

It can be argued that global warming is actually beneficial to agriculture.  Increase in floods and tornados is not so good however.

You make a great point. We haven't been keeping records that long. You can't make judgments about the historical climate of this planet without much more data on it.

Ice cores give us some information, but not enough to make definitive statements about what is coming.

Antarctica is seeing record levels of ice during the winters down there. If we're warming up how does one explain that?

Seems to me I read, in the past few years, that the entire solar system is actually warning up. I don't know if that's true or not. I'd only read that one source article. If it is true, then we, obviously, are part of a larger cosmic shift.

We are also one volcanic eruption away from a mini ice-age!

This is why my blood boils when politicians spout off and agree to this cap and trade b.s. Carbon Tax   >:(

There is a show currently running called "what on earth?" where they are investigating anomalous satellite photos; the most interesting one so far is one that showed this mysterious cloud over the US; it turned out to be the massive amounts of oxygen released by the corn belt, an amount greater than what s produced by the world's rain forests...

That is a good show.  Some very interesting topics.  Jim Marrs was even on the one last night.

Speaking of corn, there has been studies showing increased carbon increase corn yield, so some producers are adding carbon to boost output.  Yet we tax carbon.   urrrrgggg.

POINTS TO PONDER

I would detail them but an busy :P

85% of the worlds free oxygen is created by ALGAE... this is a long known FACT

The OZONE layer 'hole scare' was another bogus political and money scheme...

There are holes over the poles in the ozone layer because there is NO DIRECT SUNLIGHT there

Most people have no idea what OZONE is

Oxygen is POISONOUS to us  Oxygen is O  What we breathe is O2  Ozone is O3

Ozone is formed when UV light hits O2 and excites the molecule opening it up to accept a third O molecule forming Ozone O3

O3 is heavier so tends to fall  As it falls it loses energy and breaks apart to O and O2 (the most stable O molecule is O2 fortunately for us :P

It is a never endind cycle as long as there is O from plants In fact the process removes poluton particles from the air

Ice cores give us some information, but not enough to make definitive statements about what is coming.

Actually there is a LOT more data from those ice core sample than just the temp chart  There are CO2 levels in those samples as well so we know what the gases were doing at the time

yes the Arctic ice is melting at record levels while Antarctica is INCREASINg at record level  Seems no one has an explanation for that  NASA has a good article on tha

Yes the temps in the entire solar system are changing

http://www.space.news/2015-10-06-entire-solar-system-is-heating-up-scientists-blame-solar-warming.html

http://www.livescience.com/1349-sun-blamed-warming-earth-worlds.html

Earth is such a tiny speck next to the sun  Even a small solar flare is hundreds of times bigger that Earth  We are living in a very narrow temperature margin  A mere 5 degrees global annual average temp change is the difference between an ice ages and a bake oven :P

The sun is a huge nuclear furnace... it fluctuates   but we are so frail that even a smal hiccup in the sun could wipe us out in a flash

Do not forget how puny we really are :P
