A Kiwi's hoverbike invention is starting to take off in the United Kingdom.
Chris Malloy, originally from New Zealand, first invented his hoverbike out of a garage when he was living
in Sydney.
But that was a few years ago now and Malloy has since moved to the UK and started the company
Malloy Aeronautics with a team of engineers.
What they have created looks like something from a Star Wars movie.

Going from the site, the first hoverbike isn't finished yet, but they are already working on a second "hoverbike". Yeah I think i'l pass.
Also, going from the pictures I can hardly believe that little engine can lift all that weight?
Stupid things like why would they use wood as propeller material? Those fans most weigh a ton.
Yup Scam.
I do know a little about this Tech... here is a photo of me (in the rear seat) of this Gyro at a private air show
a few years back.

It is a Turbo version using a similar model to this Rotax engine.

Capable of 125 mph.
And yes that is myself sitting in the gyro, (see photo below) flying this home made 'unit' in a test rig.
The chassis and engine was from an old Quad bike with a few radical additions.
The Rig was also used for entertainment by family and friends as well.
"Wood" was used in the past for the 'Rotor blades'.
More recently Carbon Fibre.
In the case of the 'Hoverbike' I would need to see a photo of the Rotor Gimbal to verify
if 'Pitch Control, is being used !
The quad bike engine used in the test rig shown in the photo above, would certainly be sufficient power
to use in such a Hover Bike !
It would NOT be difficult to manufacture one of these 'Hoverbikes' and not financially out of reach !
And so this is why it may be a 'scam' as it is NOT technically difficult to build, and one
has still NOT been demonstrated in public at an air show of any kind reported.
Still I would love to see someone manufacture one just for fun.
These are a lot of fun ...

as are these also.

I have a Carson EC-135 Feuerwehr I play with even though I'm an Oldie.
2nd or 20th Childhood or something I guess. :)
