Here's one for our physics and rock hounds. pretty strange coincidence!!

Quote
"I've never seen anything like this," her doctor, Dr. Andrea Dunkelman, said today on "GMA." "She has third-degree burns, which means that it's been burned all the way through her skin to her underlying tissue, her fat. We treated her by placing skin grafts from her thigh to that area."

I don't think I have ever heard of this happening to a modest rock collection by children, bu the rocks did contain a phosphorus element. Not only that, they think they were man made? What in the world would someone do that for?

Quote
San Diego State University geologist Pat Abbott says this was not Mother Nature's fault.
Scientists investigating the mysterious explosion say there were seven rocks in total that the Hiner children took from the beach. Field tests found traces of phosphorus -- the flammable orange chemical used in matches -- on the rocks.

What good would have with planting or creating such types of thing's other than to injure unsuspected collector's', beach goer's or children innocently playing with them?

The local news tried to explain those rocks as chunks of phosphorus.... saying that when they dried out in the woman's pockets as they walked on the beach the rocks burst into flames. She was burned pretty badly and her husband was hurt too trying to put her out. They said if the "rocks" had stayed submerged they wouldn't have done that.
Nobody said a word about why chunks of phosphorus would be on a Southern California beach. They led you to believe that this was NORMAL???????

Puts a whole new spin on Beach combing.  Linda

I am not sure about the "Jeanne Dixon" thing, but I would be weary of having such stones in the back of my trunk from a long day of picking up such stones.
IF someone is not a 'RockHound' per se, they would never know the difference. It could lead too some very serious incidences for sure. Especially the trunk issue, or the car or the cars back seat for that matter.
"New Form Of Fuel" is something to ponder, what remains as a question I had though is "Why haven't they been found there before and who or what got them there??
Have to wait and see I guess.
