The Lucid View - Aeolus kephas/Jasun Horsely

Quote
What governs the laws of physics and makes one man’s reality another man’s hallucination? How many points of view does it take to make a consensus? If reality is in the eye of the beholder, why should we believe anything which we can’t see for ourselves? And if our beliefs and perceptions are creating our reality, isn’t it time we asked ourselves what—or who—is shaping these beliefs, and to what end?

Juxtaposing ancient myths and occult teachings with the modern folklore of global conspiracies, satanic rituals, and alien abductions, The Lucid View traces hitherto unexplored parallels between paranoid awareness, magikal thinking, and Surrealism, and finds they all share a common goal: to forge new perspectives out of the raw material of the unconscious, and to shatter the frozen lake of the consensus with the axe of the impossible.

Drawing freely on the works of Blake, Rimbaud, Dostoyevsky, Nietzsche, Poe, Jung, Kafka, D.H. Lawrence, Camus, Breton, Dali, H.P. Blavatsky, Aleister Crowley, William Burroughs, Carlos Castaneda, Philip K. Dick, Jacques Vallee, Terence McKenna, John Keel, Whitley Strieber, and Robert Anton Wilson, The Lucid View covers a wide spectrum of paranormal phenomena and visionary perspectives, and weaves them into an original and spell-binding tapestry. This is a newly revised and updated edition.

In a startling feat of historical research, Keith Chester's STRANGE COMPANY details an aspect of World War II that has been shrouded in ignorance for more than sixty years. Chester reveals that as the war gripped the world for six years, military personnel reported seeing numerous highly unconventional aircraft in all theaters of operation. These objects had extraordinary flight performance capabilities, came in a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors, and were able to travel at extraordinary speeds and avoid radar detection. The author recounts the reactions by military commands, their viewpoints, and theories as they struggled to make sense of the observations. A scientific panel convened by the CIA eight years after the war admitted that these unconventional objects were of unknown origin.

"In this eye-opening, thoroughly researched book, bristling with surprising revelations," writes UFO historian Jerome Clark in the foreword to the book, "Keith Chester challenges decades of conventional wisdom about the UFO phenomenon."

It's time to drop the pretense that UFOs were a rare sight before 1947, when pilot Kenneth Arnold witnessed nine "flying saucers" over Washington State. While Arnold's sighting is regarded by many as the beginning of the UFO phenomenon, Strange Company illustrates just how pervasive the phenomenon was years earlier--before, during, and after World War II. "What this work suggests," says author Keith Chester, "is that while an immense twentieth century war was raging on Earth, someone, or something, from somewhere else, was watching us."

Hi Folks,

Some great titles and books/pdf recommendations in this thread :-) I recall a interview that JL gave but I forget to whom and in it he mentioned a book that got him hooked on the UFO Phenomenon but I cant for the life of me recall the book or the author..  the interview was a very old one and John was in very good health and wearing a black tees shirt if memory serves?

Cheerz!
