Very odd indeed.     :o

They are still using pennies in 2024 !!!  The Canadian penny has already been taken out of circulation because it costs more to make that what is worth.  Can`t make it for one cent.   LOL

I have asked for a pic of the reverse side of the coin also; the face above does not look like Lincoln's traditional profile, looks more like U.S. Grant; nose is wrong, forehead is wrong, hair is wrong...

interesting...

I am the one with the friend that has this coin. He swears it is real. Many people have asked him about it and where he got it. He says it was in his pocket change. He has only shown on FB. He will not show the backside as he says that it looks like any other penny, and if he turned it over to show the back we would think he used another coin. So... I have seen what The Seeker says about the head, I can't see the coin in person unless I drive over to his house, and that's not worth the 10 mins to do that. He's single, I'm single....don't want him getting ideas😜🙄

He does not pull pranks on people so I guess someone has pulled a prank on him. He does have spirits/??/something in his home as they are constantly frightening him with different stunts. I'll just chalk this up to unexplainable.

As far as I know, physical money is considered more or less meaningless by the people who produce it at this point.  They probably don't think it matters what year it has on it.  We're not talking about people renowned for their honesty, AFAIK at least.

Doesn't work that way over here, petrus; someone might have made it as a joke, but that is still counterfeiting and can get their ass in prison for a looong time

I tried to reproduce the reflective lighting given off the penny with a flashlight and my smart phone camera. Neither reflected back a shine like shown in the lower half of the penny. Than we have the word 'Liberty' with letters all over the place. Looking at a real penny 'Liberty' is in a blocked straight text and not some letters bigger than others and crooked. Than we have that 2024. Obvious 24 was placed on the image since it is lower than the 20.

Hoax!

Thats what I noticed also... the font on the letters and numbers looked suspect to me. Also that weird shine on the bottom half.  I think it is a forgery.  I don't see what good it would do to forge a penny though  ??? strange .

It's counterfeiting if you or Homer Simpson does it; if Alan Greenspan and his psychopathic cabal do it, it's quantitative easing.  I know about the Aristotelian definition of money, and I also know how far we currently are away from it.  Any country with a central bank is in the same boat.
